1 Corinthians 4: 1-7

“Moreover it is required in stewards that one be found faithful” – 1 Corinthians 4:2

Faithfulness in Stewardship is the main mark and measure of IMPACTFUL MINISTRY: “Moreover it is required in stewards that one be found faithful” (1 Cor.4:2). The single, non-negotiable requirement for a steward is to be found faithful. God values loyalty, reliability, and obedience to His Will above human metrics like charisma, popularity, or perceived success. The apostle describes ministers – and by extension all Believers – as “servants of Christ and stewards of the mysteries of God” (v.1). A steward is a manager of another’s property, who owns nothing himself but is entrusted with the other’s resources and affairs.

Spiritually, believers manage the divine truths of the Gospel, spiritual gifts, time, talents, and material resources on God's behalf. Ministry is a work of service, commission, or divine assignment. Ministry is Stewardship – serving as messenger to carry out the orders of our Superior; harnessing divine resources to carry out divine assignments committed into one’s hand! A minister of Christ is someone who has received something from the Lord and shares the same with others (vv.6-7). Matthew 10:8 also says: “Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out demons. Freely you have RECEIVED, freely give.”

Faithfulness is the key requirement for Fruitful Stewardship (v.2). A steward's primary concern is not brilliance, popularity, accumulated possessions or outward success, but trustworthiness and dependability in carrying out the master's instructions. The Greek word for "faithful" – pistos – implies integrity, honesty, and consistent loyalty to the One who has given the trust. Faithfulness entails attaining God’s goals and purposes for one’s life (Jer.29:11). Ministry is neither a church title, nor mere leadership position, but a divine assignment handed down to one by God; hence, accountability is to God, not Man.

Faithfulness is ultimately judged by the Lord, not by human opinion or “a human court.” Paul saw human judgment as “a very small thing,” as his ultimate accountability was to the Lord, who alone can unveil the “counsels of the hearts” (vv.3-5).

Impactful Ministry is defined by:

Obedience over Ambition: Obedience to God's Word and Will and alignment with His purposes and standards regardless of immediate results or human approval; not by personal ambition or outward appearances.

Faithfulness – confirmed through Integrity in the "Little Things": consistent, daily acts of integrity, even in unseen or seemingly insignificant tasks, preparing the faithful with a few things for greater responsibilities and reward (Mt.25:21).

God’s Approval as Motivation: True Stewards seek to please God above all else, knowing that He sees hidden works and true intentions. The ultimate reward is hearing the Master's commendation: "Well done, good and faithful servant" (Mt. 25:23).

Doctrinal Purity: Guarding and accurately dispensing the "mysteries of God" – Gospel truths – without dilution or human mixtures.

While the world may value charisma and outward success, God's enduring requirement and equipment for those entrusted with His work is steadfast, trustworthy, and obedient faithfulness to His Calling and His Word.

Our Vision

The vision of KCOM is that:
"the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the Glory of the Lord as the waters cover the seas" (Habakkuk 2:14).
"But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the Glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory even as by the Spirit of the Lord" (2 Corinthians 3:18).
