POWER OF THE SPIRIT FOR IMPACT (3)

“And with GREAT POWER the apostles gave witness to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ....” – Acts 2:33a

Believers in Christ are ordained to be Carriers and Channels of the POWER of THE SPIRIT for IMPACT: “And with GREAT POWER the apostles gave witness to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ. And GREAT GRACE was upon them all”” (Acts 2:33). The early church needed the Power of the Holy Spirit for positive, enduring, and eternal impact, and so do we! The Holy Spirit helps, guides, and renews us: “But according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and RENEWING of the HOLY SPIRIT, whom He poured out on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour” (Tit.3:5b-6).

The Holy Spirit is the Third Person of the Trinity, and the Promised Gift of God. He has come just as Jesus said would happen. He is the Person of God’s Power; “But you shall receive POWER when the HOLY SPIRIT has come upon you: and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth” (Acts 1:8). The advent of the Spirit on the day of Pentecost marked a phenomenal emergence and release of supernatural power. The Holy Spirit works through us to manifest His Power, impacting our lives and enabling us to be effective witnesses and vessels of His Grace.

All Believers are potential channels for the Power of God to work through. We were all in sin before the Spirit of God visited our lives and rescued us from sin’s bondage. We must learn to receive the Influence of the Holy Spirit and boldly share it with others. We are described as “carriers” because the Holy Spirit dwells within us, empowering us with His Presence and abilities. He gives us the wisdom, strength, and guidance needed to live godly lives. We are considered to be “channels” because we are used by the Spirit to share His Power with others. This can be through words, actions, and even the divine Presence.

The Power of the Holy Spirit sustained the early church and it is the same power that will sustain us in the Christian race and Fight of Faith. The Holy Spirit helps, guides, and renews us! He teaches and reminds us of all things (Jh.14:26; Rom.8:27 NLT). The Holy Spirit guides and leads (Gal.5:16, 22-25). He renews us (Tit.3: 3-7). Moreover, the eyes of the Lord are searching back and forth across the land – up and down the pews of every church in the world – looking for those who are willing to be used by Him. Before the Holy Spirit can manifest Himself, He must have vessels to operate through. Am I one?
