WAITING FOR THE WORD

And God spake unto Noah, saying, Go forth of the ark… – Genesis 8:15-16a

PATIENCE, RAVEN, DOVE AND PEACE

Also he sent forth a dove from him, to see if the waters were abated from off the face of the ground; – Genesis 8:8

HOW COULD GOD FORGET?

And GOD REMEMBERED NOAH, and every living thing, and all the cattle that was with him IN THE ARK: and God made a wind to pass over the earth, and the waters asswaged; – Genesis 8:1

He cannot forget you, though all hearts that love you are cold…, and though floods of trouble surge and break around. he comes nearest when there is none else to intercept His love. The floods but bear us nearer to His heart, above the tops of the highest hills.

THE TWO-EDGED FLOOD

And the flood was forty days upon the earth; and the waters increased, and bare up the ark, and it was lift up above the earth – Genesis 7:17

COVENANT OBEDIENCE

There went in two and two unto Noah into the ark, the male and the female, as God had commanded Noah – Genesis 7:9

This is the secret of a holy and blessed Life. Most of our…disappointments have come on us because we have chosen our own path, and done according to our own will.

OBEDIENCE OF FAITH

Thus did Noah; according to ALL that God commanded him, so did he – Genesis 6:22

NOAH's FAITH triumphed over diverse impediments in an era filled with corruption. By faith, he overcame the scorn, objections, derision and ridicule of neighbours. His obedience was ready, resolute and total. To construct such a huge structure, a prototype of which he had never seen, and to accumulate provisions for the living creatures must have demanded a great deal of care, effort, labour, and expense. Having set his hand to the task of building, Noah persevered and persisted till completion.

THE ARK IS THE ANSWER

And God said unto Noah, The end of all flesh is come before me; for the earth is filled with violence through them; and, behold, I will destroy them with the earth. Make thee an ARK… – Genesis 6: 13-14a

What an appalling generation! The stench of decaying “flesh” and the stink of a world full of wickedness nauseated God’s nostrils. Sin multiplied among men, corrupting worship and filling the earth with violence. Wickedness exploded; ruin and a flood of wrath were imminent. God’s justice resolved to destroy the world, but He left a tiny window of mercy.

FINDING DIVINE DELIGHT

But Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD. These are the generations of Noah: Noah was a JUST man and PERFECT in his generations, and Noah WALKED WITH GOD – Genesis 6: 8

LIFE: DURATION OR DONATION?

And all the days of Methuselah were nine hundred sixty and nine years: and HE DIED – Genesis 5:27

WALKING IN GOD’S WAY, PACE AND LIGHT

And Enoch walked with God: and he was not; for God took him” – Genesis 5:24

What an epitaph on this ancient saint! It is as clear-cut today as when first recorded here. We know nothing of Enoch but this brief record; but it tells us everything. It was not an act or a number of acts, but a high tone of life constantly maintained. Better to walk with God every day in calm, unbroken fellowship, than to have occasional rapturous experiences, succeeded by long relapses and backslidings. The Hebrew word might be rendered, “Enoch walked, and continued to walk.”

Our Vision

The vision of KCOM is that:
"the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the Glory of the Lord as the waters cover the seas" (Habakkuk 2:14).
"But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the Glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory even as by the Spirit of the Lord" (2 Corinthians 3:18).
