THE ARK IS THE ANSWER

And God said unto Noah, The end of all flesh is come before me; for the earth is filled with violence through them; and, behold, I will destroy them with the earth. Make thee an ARK… – Genesis 6: 13-14a

What an appalling generation! The stench of decaying “flesh” and the stink of a world full of wickedness nauseated God’s nostrils. Sin multiplied among men, corrupting worship and filling the earth with violence. Wickedness exploded; ruin and a flood of wrath were imminent. God’s justice resolved to destroy the world, but He left a tiny window of mercy.

Mercy arose; Noah found favour in the eyes of God, though not in the eyes of men. His world hated and persecuted him, because both by his life and message he condemned the world (Heb. 11:7). Noah kept his integrity in a wicked world. He displayed strong and unique faith, swimming against the tide of corruption and standing for God in an era of rebellion. God’s EYE of FAVOUR beams upon those who sincerely look up to him with an EYE of FAITH.

The secret of the Lord is with them that fear him (Psa.25:14). God confided in Noah, that He would destroy the wicked world by a flood of water. He directed Noah to build an ARK, a fairly large structure, fitted to float upon the waters. The GOD of DESIGN and DETAILS gave Noah specific instructions on how to make the ark to be well prepared for divine purpose.

God’s answers to our prayers often begin with obedience to divine instructions. Here, it was to BUILD and ARK – a spiritual “type” of CHRIST:
- God provided the Ark as a way of escape (salvation) from destruction;
- God revealed the Ark’s design and details in advance;
- The Ark had a window above…heavenward, not earth-ward;
- The Ark had rooms enough for as many as would come in;
- The Ark had only one door – indicating the only Way of Salvation;
- God invited man in to rest from the storm and survive the flood; and
- God shut the door and kept Noah and his company safe and secure.
Christ the ARK is the ANSWER to your Destiny’s Needs. Accept and abide in Him – He is the Way, the Truth and the Life (John 14:6)!
