TIMES AND SEASONS (1)

“And He changes the TIMES and SEASONS; He removes kings and raises up kings…” – Daniel 2:21a

The Sovereign Lord controls the TIMES and SEASONS of our lives: “And He changes the TIMES and SEASONS; He removes kings and raises up kings; He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to those who have understanding” (Dan.2:21). God is the Sovereign Ruler of human history. Shifts in seasons and political powers are strictly under His charge, not human clockwork. He controls all “times and seasons” – changing them at will, removing kings, and installing others. We can rest, assured that God’s perfect timing governs every circumstance. Seasons will change, circumstances will shift, kings will rise and fall, but the Lord remains our unshakable Anchor in every storm!

Daniel and his friends faced imminent death because King Nebuchadnezzar demanded his wise men reveal and interpret a forgotten dream. Rather than panic, Daniel demonstrated radical faith, seeking divine intervention from God. His urgent prayer of deliverance resulted in the revelation of the meaning of the dream, prompting a beautiful psalm of praise for God’s sovereign control over history, human leaders, and all hidden wisdom. Like Daniel, when faced with times of crisis, our first response should be to seek God's face in prayer rather than relying solely on human counsel. Let’s recognize that God is using each season to shape our character and prepare us for the next phase of destiny.

Wisdom and Power belong exclusively to God (v.20). Daniel sought Him for a revelation of the king's dream, demonstrating that supernatural mysteries are unveiled only by the Creator. Moreover, He has divine sovereignty over Time. He is the ultimate Timekeeper. The "times" – opportune moments (Greek = kairos); and "seasons" (eras or epochs) of our lives are strictly under His control, not left to chance or human manipulation (v.21). God is both the Source, and Revealer of Secrets (v.22). He sees in the dark. He exposes hidden agendas, confusing circumstances, and unclear futures. He brings light to what is unknown, providing direction exactly when His people need it.

God’s Timing often aligns with moments of looming crisis, turning potential destruction into testimonies for His Glory. His timing is perfect. He makes all things beautiful in His time, even when it contradicts our personal schedules. Daniel praised God for delivering him and his friends from a death sentence (v.23). We also can cultivate a lifestyle of thanksgiving and an attitude of Gratitude, not only for the victories He has already won but for His continuous control over our future. God’s timing is the perfect intersection of His Love and His Wisdom.

In Jesus name, I prophesy that:

My times and seasons are securely held in the hands of the Almighty; and no force can alter His divine timeline or disrupt my destiny.

God’s Light dispels surrounding darkness and confusion, removes obstacles, and establishes divine order in every erratic season of my life.

God turns every hidden agenda of the enemy into a stepping stone for my promotion and elevation. My life will continually reflect His praises.

I am planted in the right place, at the right time, receiving the right resources for my calling. I will not miss my Divine Timing!
