Bible Meditation:
Luke 24:13-32

Now it came to pass, as He sat at the table with them, that He took bread, blessed and broke it, and gave it to them. Then their eyes were opened and they knew Him; and He vanished from their sight – Luke 24:30-31

Yesterday, we meditated on the importance of holding firm to Jesus and the dangers of losing Him. For some people, reconnecting with Jesus may be urgently required. A few days after Jesus’ death and burial, two of His disciples on their way to Emmaus village engaged in conversation. The news of His resurrection was heralded by some of their women. Then Peter went to the sepulchre but did not find His body; only His clothes were neatly wrapped and arranged.

As they reflected over their ‘loss’, hurting from His absence, the two disciples brooded in sorrow and reasoned in regrets. Not long after, Jesus joined them in the discourse but they did not recognize Him: ‘And He said to them, “What kind of conversation is this that you have with one another as you walk and are sad?” (Lk.24:17). They were unaware that the Lord Himself had drawn near and was the One now walking and talking with them. They thought they had lost Him, but all they needed was to reconnect with Him.

While the Lord was with them in the flesh, they never lacked grace, joy, peace, hope, comfort, and strength; they received unceasing flows of these and more. However, after the meal that they had with the risen Lord, their eyes opened and they realized the One they thought was lost was right there with them. When you are going round in circles and achieving little or nothing; when nothing seems to be working for you in spite of efforts, it could be a pointer to your disconnection from Jesus, and the urgent need for restoration of divine connection. That’s why He left us with the Ministry of the Holy Spirit.

Jesus promised: “I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever” (Jh.14:16). When you’re going through seasons of anxiety, confusion, pressures or pains but find it difficult to be comforted, it could be because Jesus has not been invited into the scene, in the Person of the Holy Spirit. Invite Him afresh for the restoration of your life’s balance, comfort, and order. As you sit at the table of meditation today, your eyes shall be opened afresh.

Our Vision

The vision of KCOM is that:
"the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the Glory of the Lord as the waters cover the seas" (Habakkuk 2:14).
"But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the Glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory even as by the Spirit of the Lord" (2 Corinthians 3:18).
