PROMISES OF DIVINE PRESERVATION

“The LORD shall PRESERVE YOU from all evil; He shall preserve your soul” – Psalm 121:7

The Bible is replete with PROMISES of DIVINE PRESERVATION: “The LORD shall PRESERVE YOU from all evil; He shall preserve your soul” (Psa.121:7). This in it's strictest sense was a promise to the nation of Israel, God’s chosen people; but also to every true believer Psalm 121 is a foundational Scripture for claiming divine preservation. Often referred to as the “Traveler’s Psalm,” it assures Believers that God is the active, vigilant, and tireless Guardian who shields His own from all evil, both in the instant moment and forevermore. First, the Lord is our Source of Help: “I will lift up my eyes to the hills – from whence comes my help? My help comes from the Lord...” (vv.1–2). The psalmist looked beyond “hilly” earthly obstacles to the Creator of heaven and earth, acknowledging that true security comes only from Him.

God is the Never-slumbering Guardian: “...He who keeps you will not slumber. Behold, He Who keeps Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep” (vv. 3b–4). He is not a human watchman who gets tired. He provides 24/7, continuous protection against stumbling or falling. He never takes a break from guarding us. He is our Divine Shade – “shade at your right hand” (v.5). He offers personal, close protection from the sun by day (active, visible dangers), and the “moon by night” – hidden, emotional, or spiritual dangers. God delivers a Comprehensive Care, covering all times (day and night) and all areas (soul and body): “from ALL EVILS (v.7). He preserves the soul from physical danger, and spiritual ruin, and guards all of life's transitions: “The Lord shall preserve your going out and coming in” now and forevermore (v.8).

Beloved, let us declare these Promises of Divine Preservation, in Jesus’ Name:

I declare that I am preserved by the Presence of God; my life is secure, and my destiny is protected. My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth, not from man or earthly connections.

I decree that my feet shall not stumble or fall into defeat, and I will not descend into downfall or destruction. The Lord, my Keeper, neither slumbers nor sleeps; therefore, I am under 24/7 divine watch.

I declare that the Lord is my shade at my right hand, shielding me from all intense pressures. The sun shall not strike me by day, nor the moon by night; I am immune to the terrors of the day and night.

The Lord preserves me from all evil – physical, spiritual, and emotional. My soul is preserved and guarded by the Almighty.

My going out and coming in is blessed, secured, and shielded by God’s Mighty Hand, from now, and even forevermore.

Every evil assignment meant to cause me to stumble is cancelled. I walk in victory, and no weapon formed against my life, family, or home shall prosper.
