POWER FOR VICTORY IN LIFE’S BATTLES

“Your right hand, O LORD, is become glorious in POWER: Your right hand, O LORD, has dashed in pieces the enemy” – Exodus 15:6

One of the greatest needs of human beings on earth is POWER for VICTORY in LIFE’S BATTLES (Exo.15:1a). Life is a Succession of battles from the cradle to the grave. Life is a continuum of conflicts from conception to conclusion. Whether we are conscious of it or not, on this side of eternity, there are no battle-free zones in life. The battles of life are not a matter of ‘If’ but of ‘When’! This is where the place of Power becomes relevant. Power is crucial and fundamental for Victory in the battles of life. The side to the conflict that possesses and processes the greater power ultimately assumes ascendancy and takes the dominion. The one who overcomes is crowned a VICTOR, while the VICTIM is the person who is overcome by powers greater than him.

Life is essentially and fundamentally a battle or an agglomeration of battles; and the Bible gives credence to this reality: “For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh, for the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds” (2Cor.10:3-4). There is a war going on furiously in the spirit realm on account of the destiny of every human being: “For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places” (Eph.6:12). It is for the sake of this ongong contention against unrepentant, devouring, and destructive sppriutual forces, that Paul commands: “Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life...” (1Tim.4:8). You must fight the good fight of faith; and God’s supernatural power is at your disposal to do so!

The battles of life cause endless tears, as the case was with Hannah: “So it was, year by year, when she went up to the house of the LORD, that she provoked here therefore she wept and did not eat” (1Sam.1:7). Praise God! His Power terminates the battle and the tears of life. By faith in God’s Word, and deliberate pursuit, you can begin to operate in the realms of Victory-guaranteeing Power. The Power with which God rules and reigns unchallenged over the Universe is available to initiate and perpetuate Victory for you in all dimensions of destiny. This Power enables you to rule in the midst of your enemies, to overcome all oppositions, to subdue your oppressors, and to conquer all confrontations. This Power breaks the fetters of captivity and puts asunder all bars of bondage.

Never forget: God is the Ultimate Possessor of Power in heaven and on earth: “He rules by His Power forever...” (Psa.66:7a). Who, where, and how you would be at any period of time would be determined the availability or otherwise of divine power – the interplay of power encounters at your disposal in life. Power is therefore your fundamental need in the conflicts of life. The God who triumphed gloriously and overthrew Pharaoh’s chariots, captains, horses and riders into the Red Sea, is our God, our Strength, Salvation, and Song (vv.1-2,4). Jehovah the “Man of War” has gone ahead to crush the battles of our lives (v.3). The “Right Hand” of the Lord is “glorious in power” to dash the enemy in pieces (v.6).

Primary to the Ministry of the Holy Spirit in the lives of believers is the Release of Power: “Behold, I send the Promise of My father upon you; but tarry in the city of Jerusalem until you are endued with POWER FROM ON HIGH” (Lk.24:49). Power from on High will annul all laws of limitation, cancel all hindering oppositions, nullify falsehood, defeat, and failure, and grant you access into the realms of divine possibilities. By His Power, you shall never be a victim in life’s battles, a casualty in spiritual warfare, a captive of the mighty or a prisoner of war to the forces of darkness and wickedness.
