Bible Meditation:
Proverbs 23: 1-12

“For as he thinks in his heart, so is he…” – Proverbs 23:7a

The scriptures constantly aim to nurture POSSIBILITY MENTALITY: “For as he thinks in his heart, so is he. “Eat and drink!” he says to you, but his heart is not with you” (Pro.23:7). Today’s meditation passage presents a contrast between a fearful, confined perspective and a wise, possibility-oriented perspective. Here, the ‘heart’ represents the inner man – deep-seated beliefs, imaginations, and motivations. The context warns against the stingy calculations of a miser (vv.6-8). The principle however applies universally: our inward, persistent thoughts shape our reality. We become what we consistently think! We must control our consumption, exercise self-control in food, entertainment, and social media (vv.1-2). We can guard our minds from influences that make us see possibilities as impossibilities.

Possibility Mentality is not mere positive thinking; it is the alignment of our internal thought life with God’s Promises and Power. What we believe and dwell on internally shapes our reality. If we think we are defeated, we are! If we think God can make a way, He will. Life moves in the direction of our dominant thoughts. We must guard against Deceptive Appetites (vv.1-3). We must not let our desires – for pleasure, money, or status – cloud our judgment in compromising situations (v.4). A possibility mentality doesn't chase fleeting riches to the point of exhaustion, knowing that worldly wealth can "make themselves wings; they fly away...” (v.5b).

There’s great danger in a Scarcity Mentality: “Do not eat with a stingy person; their hospitality is a trap, and their heart is calculating, not generous” (vv.6-8). This serves as a sharp warning about the hidden costs of “free” things. When someone is tight-fisted, the food they offer isn't a gift – it's a transaction. We must value divine Wisdom over foolish talk; and not waste our words on someone who despises wisdom (v.9). Possibility Mentality respect boundaries and protects the vulnerable (vv.10-11). Rather than shift ancient boundary markers, it trusts God as the strong Redeemer and Defender of the helpless. A Possibility Mentality acts on God's truth, knowing that even if a situation looks dead – like a stingy person’s bread, God’s Wisdom offers a different outcome: Apply your heart to instruction…” (v.12).

I declare, in Jesus’ Name that:

I choose to think God’s thoughts about myself. My thoughts are aligned with His Word, and my reality is changing for the best. I am not a product of my circumstances, but of my redeemed mind. With the Mind of Christ; I see possibilities where others see limitations.

I refuse to be a slave to scarcity; I operate in the abundance of God’s Grace, feeding my mind with the Promises of God, not the anxieties of the world. As a lifelong learner, I apply my heart to wisdom and my ears to understanding.

My future is bright and secured in Christ. My expectations shall not be cut off. I am creating a reality of abundance, health, prosperity, and Victory, through my faith-filled thoughts and words.

Our Vision

The vision of KCOM is that:
"the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the Glory of the Lord as the waters cover the seas" (Habakkuk 2:14).
"But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the Glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory even as by the Spirit of the Lord" (2 Corinthians 3:18).
