NEWNESS

Then He who sat on the throne said, “Behold, I make ALL THINGS NEW.” And He said to me, “Write, for these WORDS are true and faithful”– Revelation 21:5

God is speaking Newness into our lives today. The Mind of our Father-God in this New Year 2018 is Newness! He has much to say and to do regarding making “all things new”. Scriptures abound on the theme of ‘Newness’. The Bible begins on the note of newness: God’s Spirit moved and His Word invaded the formless and dark void, releasing beautiful and wonderful works of creation (Gen.1:1-3). The Bible also ends with a future expectation of newness: “Now I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away. Also there was no more sea… And He that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new…” (Rev.21:1, 5a). It is always the delight of God to “make all things new”.

In God’s Wisdom, Time is subdivided into times and seasons – a new day, new night, new week, new month, and new year: “Day unto day utters speech, And night unto night reveals knowledge” (Ps.19:2). God has something new for you every day, night, week, and month of the Year! Your days will utter speeches of newness; and your nights reveal new insights from His Throne: “Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love Him. But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God” (1 Cor.2:9). As you embrace His Word, Holy Spirit will reveal to you “all things, yes the deep things of God”!

He who sat on the throne said…“Write, for these words are true and faithful” (Rev.21:5). Even now, as I write God’s Word of Newness, they remain “true and faithful” to those who believe! God is always doing “a new thing” – some exciting, unheard of, wonderful event that surpasses all He had done before: “Do not remember the former things, nor consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a NEW THING, NOW it shall spring forth; shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness and rivers in the desert” (Isa.43:18-19). This is your NOW of NEWNESS! However, the greatest ‘new thing’ that God does for anyone is to enable him or her, by His Grace, to become a ‘New Creation’: “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new” (2 Cor.5:17).

That you are recreated or born again constitutes the real difference between you and others. It is the distinction which Christ designed to make. The reality of the New Creation is not by conformity to certain customs; not by status, wealth, beauty or blood; not by colour or complexion; but the grand inquiry is, whether you have been born again – a new creature in Christ. Empowered by your New Life, you’ll walk a new Way, speak in new tongues, sing new songs, and receive new names! What new things do you believe the Lord for today, this week, this month, and this year? How are you preparing yourself for the new things God is preparing for you? As for me, I can sing and shout: “I have a New Life. I have a New Life. If anyone asks me, “What’s the matter with you my friend?” I’ll tell them that I am saved, sanctified, Holy Ghost-filled, water-baptised, heavenly bound; I have a New Life”! This is my Now of Newness!
