INFORMATION

This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success – Joshua 1:8

Closely allied to ‘learning’ is INFORMATION. This is knowledge about a particular subject, issue, event or process. It refers to details, facts or particulars, communicated, learned, provided or received concerning something or someone. Information is knowledge gained through communication, study, instruction or research. The power of Information is such that it sheds ‘light’ on dark matters, resolves uncertainty, and provides answers to questions. You and I need Information in life, the right kind of Information. To be informed is to be adequately enlightened about your mission, and this is crucial to a life of impact!

Information is Power. Information releases light. It is the pathway to Discovery and a great asset in the world of success (Jos.1:8). Information brings transformation and generates Recovery. If you are not informed you cannot be transformed; and may end up being deformed. Lack of information causes severe limitations; and wrong information leads to deformation! With information, you are reformed to transform yourself and others. When you ennlarge your information base, you’ll increase your output and impact rates in life (Jos.1:6-9). You cannot impact beyond your level of information. Information increases Impact. Information is however not always directly tied to formal education. There are poorly educated but incredibly successful people. In the natural, the likes of Benjamin Franklin, Michael Faraday, and Richard Branson, were unschooled, but spent money on books, seminars, and other resources to get information that led them to greater heights.

The basis for every genuine transformation is information. The God of Recovery and Restoration is interested in lifting you up to the status that He has ordained for you. However, it is discovery that brings recovery. To discover is to lay hold on the necessary information about what will help you to be restored. It is to have new knowledge about the ways to get back what was lost. Correct information will make a whole lot of difference to your life. With the right kind of information, you can recover and be lifted from the worst of circumstances such as, a broken heart, an emotional meltdown, a failing marriage, a financial downturn or a spiritual collapse. However, discovery comes through engagement in diligent searching (Mt.7:7).

Ultimately, it is futile to simply absorb loads of information and not respond to or act on them. Mere accumulation of Information leaves you overwhelmed and even stagnated; it is Decision derived from Information that eventually transforms you. There are many who are copiously informed, yet not acting, they remain deformed and defeated. It is not sufficient to be armed or equipped with ample Information; you must put it to prompt and proper use: “The children of Ephraim, being armed and carrying bows, Turned back in the day of battle” (Psa.78:9). The information that counts is that which is put to use.

Believers in the Lord Jesus Christ have the richest Information Bank available to any group of people on earth. We are connected to the original Source of life, the Omniscient God Almighty! We have no excuse to remain deformed or defeated! The Resources of Divinity are at our disposal. May we never have cause to waste or disgrace His Grace in Jesus name!
