Colossians 3: 17-25

And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men– Colossians 3:23

The IMPACTFUL PROFESSIONAL renders God-glorifying Service: And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men” (Col.3:23). Working wholeheartedly as if serving the Lord, gives work deeper meaning beyond just serving an employer. To be scripturally-guided, impactful professionals, we must redefine the purpose of work, shifting focus from working for human approval and earthly rewards, to serving God with a transformed heart and mindset. When we adopt this eternal perspective, every word and deed in our professional life becomes an act of worship and service.

Impactful Professionals infuse every aspect of work – both spoken and written communications as well as actions – with Christ’s Character and Authority. The motivation for professional conduct should be to serve God with excellence regardless of earthly circumstance. All legitimate work, no matter how small, can be a form of worship when done for the Glory of God: And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him” (v.17). Work can be a means to serve and bless others, whether through the work itself or interactions with colleagues (Gal.5:13). Other Principles and Guidelines for Professional Impact include the following:

Acting as Ambassadors: We are ambassadors for Christ in our workplace. How we treat colleagues, respond to challenges, and demonstrate diligence directly reflects on our faith.

Acknowledging the Ultimate Boss: We can find purpose in even the most mundane tasks when we recognize that our ultimate accountability is to God, not a human supervisor.

Cultivating Gratitude: An attitude of thankfulness transforms our outlook on work, even during trying seasons. This reminds us that all blessings come through God and fosters a more positive and productive approach.

Remembering the Reward: An earthly career offers a salary and finite advancement, but serving the Lord provides an eternal, lasting legacy, which serves as a powerful incentive to sustain integrity and diligence, even in seemingly unfulfilling jobs.

Shifting Audience. When our focus is on pleasing God rather than seeking human validation, our motivation becomes pure and our work ethic unshakeable. This perspective protects us from discouragement when our efforts go unnoticed by others.

Working heartily: The Greek word for "heartily" implies doing our work with our whole soul and strength. This standard of excellence is not to impress people but to honour God, who deserves our very best.

By applying these principles, professional work becomes more of a calling than a job. This leads to profound, long-term impact. Guided by the Holy Spirit, we can make positive, God-glorifying impact through: Integrating faith and work; leadership and influence; effective workplace communication; collaboration and teamwork; effective problem-solving and decision-making; time management and productivity; professional networking; mentorship and coaching; work-life balance; ethics and integrity; innovation and creativity; adaptability and resilience; project management; and continuous learning and development.

Our Vision

The vision of KCOM is that:
"the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the Glory of the Lord as the waters cover the seas" (Habakkuk 2:14).
"But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the Glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory even as by the Spirit of the Lord" (2 Corinthians 3:18).
