Bible Meditation:
Psalm 19:1-6

“The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament shows His handiwork” – Psalm 19:1

Scriptures severally describe GOD’S CREATIVE IMPACT: “The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament shows His handiwork. Day unto day utters speech, and night unto night reveals knowledge” (Psa.19: 1-2). Our meditation passage depicts the heavens as a silent yet constant declaration of God's Glory, a message that transcends language. God is the Sole Creator, with everything coming from and being sustained by Him, and displaying His Glory, Power, and Goodness.

God's Creative Impact is evident in the universe's design, beauty, and order, which universally declare His Glory and Power. He is the deliberate and personal Creator who brought everything into existence with purpose. His Power and divine nature are evident in creation, leaving no excuse for not knowing Him (Rom.1:20). The natural world is a testament to His divine Nature, eternal Power, and Wisdom. His power is, however, not limited to the physical world but extends to the spiritual.

Here are Six aspects of God’s Role in Creation:

Sovereign Architect and Authority: God is the Sole Designer and Origin of all reality, creating the universe – visible and invisible – ex nihilo (out of nothing), by the power of His spoken Word. The book of Genesis begins with the declaration, "In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth," establishing Him as the Pre-existent, Initiating Creator (Gen.1:1). The Questions God posed to Job emphasize His role as sole Foundation-layer, fixing the earth's place and setting its cornerstone (Job 38:4-6). As the Potter to the Clay, He holds supreme authority over everything He made (Rom.9:20-21).

Intelligent and Intentional Designer: The intricate details, complexity, structure, and orderliness found in nature – from ecosystems to DNA – point to intelligent design, refuting the idea of a chance occurrence. Creation wasn't random but a purposeful act reflecting God's Will, Wisdom, and Power.

Sustainer: Beyond the initial act of creation, God is actively involved in sustaining the natural world and all life within it. He holds the universe together: “All things were created through Him and for Him. And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist” (Col.1:17).

Relational Creator: God created humanity in His own image, bestowing unique qualities like rationality, creativity, and moral responsibility, intended for fellowship with Him (Gen.1:26-27; 3:8). Scriptures collectively demonstrate that the Creator is personal and actively seeks a connection with His creation.

Unrivalled Craftsmanship: The intricate complexity of the cosmos, from galaxies to living things, points to His unparalleled skill, a concept magnified in Job 38: 4-6.

Purposed for God’s Glory: Ultimately, Creation is for God's Glory. Everything that comes from Him, exists by His Power, and is intended for His Glory: "You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they were created and have their being" (Rev.4:11). Glory is God’s Sovereign Purpose!

Our Vision

The vision of KCOM is that:
"the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the Glory of the Lord as the waters cover the seas" (Habakkuk 2:14).
"But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the Glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory even as by the Spirit of the Lord" (2 Corinthians 3:18).
