Psalm 66: 1-20

Say to God, “How awesome are Your works! Through the greatness of Your POWER Your enemies shall submit themselves to You” – Psalm 66:3

It is the will of God to grant us access to Realms of Power and enable us to take deliveries of the EXPLOITS of POWER: “the people who know their God shall be strong, and carry out GREAT EXPLOITS” (Dan.11:32b). To know God is to know His Power. Paul prayed: “that I may know Him and the power of His resurrection…” (Phil.3:10). Through Prayers, we can access realms of Power and enjoy the Exploits of Power. That’s the theme of Psalm 66. Most commentators believe that this Psalm was penned by King Hezekiah of Judah, after the Lord delivered the inhabitants of Jerusalem from the attack of the Assyrian army. Although the city was surrounded by 185,000 Assyrians, Isaiah had prophesied that not a single arrow from an Assyrian bow would make its way into Jerusalem (Isa. 37:33). Indeed, that night, an angel of the Lord came and slaughtered the entire army (2 Kgs.19:35).

Power liberates from bondage. Power is the instrument of release from stubborn captivity and destructive bondage. Israel was in bondage for four hundred and thirty years in Egypt, until God raised and commissioned Moses for their deliverance through the instrumentality of His Power (Exo.3:7-10). The LORD stated explicitly that Israel’s release could not materialise outside of Power: “But I am sure that the king of Egypt will not let you go, no, not even by a might hand. So I will stretch out My hand and strike Egypt with all My wonders which I will do in its midst; and after that he will let you go” (Exo.3:19-20). Like Pharoah, there are opposition forces that understand and respond only to the language of Power.

When Moses confronted Pharaoh for the release of God’s people, Pharaoh remained stubborn and unyielding. He was unwilling to negotiate or surrender, until God moved in unprecedented demonstrations of Power: “And Pharaoh said, “Who is the LORD, that I should obey His voice to let Israel go? I do not know the LORD, nor will I let Israel go” (Exo.5:2). The moment Power manifested, Pharoah was begging Israel to leave Egypt speedily (Exo.12:29-33). Until Power comes, freedom is not in view. Are there any forces like Pharaoh’s that are trying to defy God in your life? It’s time for them to be overthrown!

God’s Power compels satanic oppositions to bow: “Say to God, “How awesome are Your works! Through the greatness of Your POWER Your enemies shall submit themselves to You” (v.3). The fountain of satanic issue of blood dried up when the woman who had endured twelve years of affliction had an encounter with the power of Jesus “Immediately the fountain of her blood was dried up, and she felt in her body that she was healed of the affliction. And Jesus, immediately knowing in Himself that POWER had gone out of Him, turned around in the crowd and said, “Who touched My clothes?”” (Mk.5:29).

God’s Power secures enduring enthronement: “He rules by His Power forever; His eyes observe the nations; do not let the rebellious exalt themselves” (v.7). His Power quells satanic or demonic rebellion. God’s Power subdues your enemies to become your footstool: “The LORD said to my Lord, “Sit at My right hand, till I you’re your enemies Your footstool. The LORD shall send the rod of Your strength out of Zion. Rule in the midst of Your enemies!” (Psa.110:1-2). His power deletes delays, and swallows up frustrations!

God’s Power wipes out weeping, dries up despair, and terminates the tears of life: “Then I returned and considered all the oppression that is dome under the sun: And look! The tears of the oppressed, but they have no comforter – on the side of their oppressors there was power, but they have no comforter” (Ecc.4:1). In the absence of power, the tragic tears of life continue unabated! Lack of power elongates seasons of tears and multiplies misery in life. When power comes, tears cease! It seems Hezekiah wrote Psalm 66 in celebration of a triumphant event. It is your own Season to celebrate the Exploits of Power!

Our Vision

The vision of KCOM is that:
"the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the Glory of the Lord as the waters cover the seas" (Habakkuk 2:14).
"But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the Glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory even as by the Spirit of the Lord" (2 Corinthians 3:18).
