Bible Meditation:
Psalm 62: 1-12

My soul, wait silently for God alone, for my expectation is from Him – Psalm 62:5

Amidst life’s challenges, our minds can either become loud battlefields of worry or Towers of DIVINE REST: My soul, wait silently for God alone, for my expectation is from Him (Psa.62:5). Knowing that our rescue is fully insured by the Eternal God, our souls will stop panicking. While the world frets frantically trying to manufacture its own security, we who believe are invited to find absolute, quiet rest in the truth that God alone is our Rock, our Fortress, and our Ultimate Defence. We can quieten every inner noise and silently anchor our souls in God!

When life hits a heavy storm, for many folks, their internal atmosphere rapidly matches the chaos outside. They fret, stay up late pacing the floor, while the frantic inner noise leaves them spiritually dry, emotionally drained, and physically exhausted. When David penned Psalm 62, though facing intense opposition, he responded with the option of Divine Rest. People were actively plotting to dethrone him from his high position, throwing insults and hiding behind masks of fake friendship. Yet, instead of trying to outmanoeuvre his enemies or panicking about his future, he commanded his soul to enter a territory of absolute silence.

The psalmist anchored his entire life with the twin affirmations in verses 1 and 5: “Truly my soul silently waits for God; from Him comes my salvation... My soul, wait silently for God alone, for my expectation is from Him.” The word “silently means to be completely still, hushed, and at rest. David realized that when our expectation comes fully from God, we don't have to scream for human help or cringe in fear. God is our resolute Rock. When we silence the internal noise and anchor our thoughts in Him, no crisis can move us from our position of Victory.

The Posture of Salvation is not what we manufacture through human effort or manipulation; it comes from God when our souls are quieted in His Presence as our Unfaltering Fortress (vv.1-2). He alone is our Rock, Salvation, and Defence; we shall not be greatly moved. When the Lord wraps His Power around our lives, problems lose their ability to shatter our stability. David found that the power of his enemies who were trying to crush him like a leaning wall or tottering fence, was nothing but an illusion that relied on lies and fake blessings (vv.3-4).

David repeated his fortress declaration with greater intensity: "I shall not be moved" (vv.6-7). Repetition builds confidence in the middle of a storm. David invited us to pour out our hearts (v.8). Rest does not mean bottling up pain, but emptying all worries directly into God's Hands in exchange for His Peace. David then unveiled the Vanity of human trust (vv.8-9). The Sovereign Truth is that: Power and Mercy belong to God (vv.11-12). Our future is perfectly secure in the Hands of He Who holds 100% of the universe's Power and unlimited Mercy.

In Jesus’ Name, I boldly decree that:

My soul is perfectly hushed, quieted, and rested in God. I obtain supernatural rescue and breakthrough in my Saviour’s Presence.

The Lord alone is my Eternal Rock, Fortress, and Safe Defence. I will not be moved, shaken, or broken by any crisis or bad news.

I strip off the garment of anxiety, place total expectation on the Lord, and break free from trusting in human help, wealth, or fleshly hustle.

Every demonic trap, conspiracy, and malicious lie against my life is exposed and destroyed. By God’s Power and Mercy, Victory is secured!

Our Vision

The vision of KCOM is that:
"the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the Glory of the Lord as the waters cover the seas" (Habakkuk 2:14).
"But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the Glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory even as by the Spirit of the Lord" (2 Corinthians 3:18).
