DIVINE PROFIT (8)

“But this I say: He who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully” – 2 Corinthians 9:6

DIVINE PROFIT answers to Sacrificial Giving: “But this I say: He who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver” (2 Cor.9: 6-7). Heaven’s supernatural yields are tied to the attitude of our hearts. God does not just look at the size of our seed; He weighs the disposition of the Sower. Today’s meditation text provides the ultimate New Testament blueprint for unlocking infinite covenant supply.

Apostle Paul was writing to the church at Corinth regarding a special collection for the suffering saints in Jerusalem. He encouraged them to complete their promised bounty before his arrival so that it stands as a proof of generosity and not extortion (v.5). He used the agrarian law of sowing and reaping to explain financial grace, introducing the divine mathematics of profit (vv.6-7). First, the law of proportionality: the measure of our harvest is linked to the measure of our sowing (v.6). If we sow sparingly, we constrain our own future yield. In verse 7, Paul shifted from the measure of the gift to the motive and manner of the giver: Is the giving done grudgingly or of necessity, or cheerfully?

It is also required that we purpose before prospering: "as he purposes in his heart” (v.7). Financial Stewardship should be an intentional, planned priority, not a random afterthought. God is not a debt collector demanding funds out of “necessity.” The Greek word for cheerful is hilaros, from which the word “hilarious” is derived. God loves hilarious, joyful, and enthusiastic givers. We are not to give grudgingly or out of fear, guilt, or manipulation. Whoever cannot give joyfully should pray for a heart transformation before releasing the seed. Joyful and willing giving makes all grace abound toward us so that we always have all sufficiency in all things! This is the real peak of Divine Profit.

God supplies seed to the Sower and bread for food; hence, we can trust that when we sow, He will multiply our seed and increase our harvest of righteousness (v.10). We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give!

In this year of Divine Performance, the grace for bountiful sowing is unleashed in my life, to be a hilarious, enthusiastic, and cheerful giver.

I break free from the habit of giving grudgingly, and decree an era of gainful reaping of my sowing and bountiful harvests over my labour.

All grace abounds toward me at all times and in all seasons, and I have all sufficiency in all things and an abundance for every good work.

Lack and scarcity are permanently banished from my life. The Lord multiplies my seed sown and increases the fruits of my righteousness.

God is performing His Word in my finances. I am enriched in everything by the Lord, stepping into perpetual financial stability and security.

My storehouse will never run dry! My financial stewardship causes thanksgiving to erupt unto God from many lives and destinies.
