Bible Meditation:
Luke 10: 38-42

“But one thing is needed, and Mary has chosen that good part, which will not be taken away from her– Luke 10:42

Believers in Christ are called to prioritize DEVOTION to DIVINE VISITATION: “But one thing is needed, and Mary has chosen that good part, which will not be taken away from her(Lk.10:42). The story of the Lord’s Visit to the home of Martha teaches us about the need to prioritize the Presence of God over the distractions of life. It was an opportunity for hospitality and an act of great honour and privilege for Martha and Mary to welcome the Lord Jesus into their home (vv. 38-39). However, true divine visitation is not merely about hosting God physically; it is about recognizing Who is in our midst and availing ourselves to commune with Him and receive from Him, through His Word.

We note the contrast between Mary’s Posture of Devotion and Martha’s falling into the Trap of Distraction. Mary chose to sit at the Master's feet to listen and “hear His Word” (v.39). In the ancient Jewish context, sitting at the feet of a Rabbi was the posture of an official disciple or learner. Mary prioritized intimate devotion and spiritual nourishment over temporal culinary preparations. Martha, on the other hand, was “distracted with much serving" and became "worried and troubled about many things" (vv.40-41). Her service was sincere and noble, but her anxiety shifted her focus from the Saviour to the task. Busyness, even in ministry, can pull a believer away from communion with God.

The Lord emphasized the eternally-rewarding priority: “...that good part, which will not be taken away from her" (v.42). He does not condemn serving, but He rebukes the anxiety that accompanies it. The Word of God, spiritual intimacy, and unbroken fellowship with the Creator are the ultimate, imperishable necessities of life. Balancing service and spirituality will ensure that our outward ministry and secular duties flow from a place of deep intimacy with God, not from a place of burnout and anxiety. We need to guard our quiet time, intentionally unplug from life's daily worries to spend time daily at the feet of Jesus, reading His Word and praying. We must value the Eternal over the temporary: When faced with the demands of the world, have we learnt to discern and choose the "better part" that will never be taken from us?

In Jesus’ Name, I declare that:

This is my season of divine visitation; God is stepping into my affairs to rewrite my story. I receive the grace to sit at the feet of my Lord and learn; my spiritual hunger is satisfied daily.

My life and family are heavily guarded by the Presence of God; peace and joy are my constant portions. Every form of anxiety and distraction that has weighed down my spirit is flushed out.

God is turning closed chapters into opened doors and seasons of lack into seasons of supernatural overflow. No deadline, worry, or worldly pursuit will rob me of my spiritual inheritance in Christ.

I am singled out for divine favour; the Lord is making His face to shine upon me and my household. His Wisdom and Knowledge rest upon my mind; I am guided by divine direction in all my decisions.

Prayer:
Lord, grant us the Grace of Devotion to Divine Visitation, to sit at Your feet, free from worry and anxiety, and choose the better part, in Jesus’ name.

Our Vision

The vision of KCOM is that:
"the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the Glory of the Lord as the waters cover the seas" (Habakkuk 2:14).
"But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the Glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory even as by the Spirit of the Lord" (2 Corinthians 3:18).
