Psalm 46: 1-11

GOD is our refuge and strength, a VERY PRESENT HELP in trouble” – Psalm 46:1

The Lord God is ever-ready and relentless in His UNSHAKABLE DIVINE PRESENCE and Help: God is our refuge and strength, a VERY PRESENT HELP in trouble”” (Psa.46:1). God does not watch us in crisis from a distance; He is already on the scene, closer than the trouble itself, and ready to rescue. When the world around quakes, caves in, or spirals into chaos, our stability does not depend on our circumstances, but on the Unwavering Presence of the Lord living inside us. By the Unshaken God, we can stay perfectly steady in a shaking world.

The world is marked by sudden shifts, economic instability, natural disasters, and unexpected personal crises. In moments of high stress, panic naturally screams, inviting worry and despair. Some millennia ago, the sons of Korah looked at a world in total chaos and pinned down the truth about Divine Presence and Help that remains our defence today! This famous song opens with the fiery declaration containing the words “very present Help”! This means that God is not a historical memory or a future hope; He is our immediate Reality. He is closer to us than the panic rising in our chest. When a crisis breaks out, God does not have to travel from heaven to get over here – He is already standing in the room. He acts as our refuge – safe hiding place – shielding us from the impact and our strength, empowering us from within.

The Lord of Hosts is actively residing in our midst. Though the earth can shake, our souls will remain calm, undisturbed and unperturbed. God is highly accessible and instantly available right in the middle of tight and stressful situations. Because He is present, we will not fear, even if the earth is removed and mountains slide into the middle of the sea (vv.2-3). True Faith refuses to panic even when external systems completely collapse. Why? While the oceans roar in chaos, there is a quiet river whose streams gladdens the city of God (vv.4-5). The Indwelling Holy Spirit acts as the internal River of Peace that keeps us stable and unmoveable, trusting Divine Help at the break of dawn.

The nations rage and kingdoms fall, but when God utters His voice, the earth melts (vv.6-7). Having the Lord of hosts with us and the God of Jacob as our refuge means that the entire armies of heaven are backing us up. God – the Destroyer of Warfare – invites us to behold His works (vv.8-9). He makes wars cease to the ends of the earth, snaps bows and burns chariots in the fire; handling the battles we cannot win. The command, “Be still, and know that I am God...” literally means "let your hands drop" (v.10). God is saying, “Stop trying to manipulate outcomes in panic. Be still, trust My Sovereignty, and let Me take the Glory.” God’s Unshakable Presence is our permanent address (v.11).

In Jesus’ name, I affirm that:

God is my ultimate Hiding Place, my internal Strength, and Instant Rescuer. I refuse to fear or panic, no matter what else collapses.

The Holy Spirit, the quiet River of Peace in me, keeps my mind perfectly glad. I am totally unshakeable because the Lord God lives in me.

By the Lord of Hosts with me, the massive armies of heaven are backing my life, and every warfare and attack against my peace is broken.

No matter how loud a crisis screams, I walk in the bold confidence of God’s Abiding Presence, and rest in His absolute sovereignty!

Our Vision

The vision of KCOM is that:
"the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the Glory of the Lord as the waters cover the seas" (Habakkuk 2:14).
"But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the Glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory even as by the Spirit of the Lord" (2 Corinthians 3:18).
