YOUR PURPOSE IS YOUR DESTINATION

For surely there is an end; and thine expectation shall not be cut off – Proverbs 23:18

Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he – Proverbs 29:18.

LIFE IS A JOURNEY...Surely there is an END – a DESTINATION!

Your PURPOSE is your DESTINATION. VISION is the revelation of that destination from the beginning.

If you buy a ticket, the destination is clearly stated from the beginning of the journey. God establishes a purpose and destination in your heart, even though it may take decades or almost a lifetime to achieve. He put the dream in Joseph’s heart as a youth, which would only be fulfilled in his late 30s. God does this for some reasons:

1. Knowing your purpose will inspire, energize and motivate you in the journey of life: Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God (Hebrews 12:2).

2. The ‘glimpse of glory’ or ‘heavenly vision’ keeps you from falling during ‘gutter experiences’: Whereupon, O king Agrippa, I was not disobedient unto the heavenly vision: (Acts 26: 19).

3. A glimpse of greatness and expectation of joy to come helps in the days of small beginnings: Though thy beginning was small, yet thy latter end should greatly increase (Job 8:7).

Seeing the vision of your purpose from afar does not imply possessing it immediately. Many who make the mistake of running with their visions, expecting immediate fulfilment, end up in great frustration, because they fail to understand the seasons of life.

In life, there are seasons of planting, preparation, pruning, processing and perfecting. You must learn to recognize respect, and respond positively to life’s seasons. You must learn to discern the right seasons for every issue – major or minor – in your life.
