WORRY-FREE LIVING

REST in the LORD, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass – Psalm 37:7

Life is all about choices. YOU CAN CHOOSE NOT TO WORRY. You can win over worry through PRAISE, PRAYER and POSITIVITY (positive thinking, talking and living).

Worry speaks of a state of anxiety, confusion and perplexity. It is a major device in the hands of the devil, to rob believers of “perfect peace”. The arena of spiritual warfare is the human mind, and that’s where Satan tries to attack with the weapon of worry (2 Cor.10:4-6).

“Worry” derives from the Greek word merimnao (merizo + nous) which combines the ideas of “to divide” and “mind.” Worry therefore infers “to DIVIDE the MIND”. It is translated “take thought” or “be careful”. Worry divides the mind between worthwhile interests and damaging, destructive thoughts. James 1:8 describes a worry-burdened person as one who is “unstable in all his ways.” Such a one is unstable in feelings, emotions, thinking, decisions, and judgements.

You must win over worry because it is possible to die of worry! Worry is the root of many diseases, and it is contagious. Many people are dying ‘installmentally’ through worry! You must win over worry before you can master any worthwhile undertaking in life. Peace of mind demands singleness of mind. Worry in the extreme leads to “loss of power to will”.

You must win over worry because WORRY is a SIN. Worry is distrust in the truthfulness of God. It is denying that all things work together for good for those who love God (Rom.8:28). Worry is detrimental to the temple of God; it debilitates and destroys the body – the temple of the Holy Spirit (1Cor.3:16). Worry is a symptom of prayerlessness: no one can worry and pray at the same time (Isa.26:3). Worry is not of faith, it is sin!

You can win over worry knowing that God is Sufficient for you! It is time to come out of the WEB of WORRY into the Worry-Free Zone of Life!
