Bible Meditation:
Isaiah 46: 1-10

“EVEN to OLD AGE, I am He, and even to GRAT HAIRS I will carry you! I have made, and I will bear, even I will carry, and will deliver you” – Isaiah 46:4

Scriptures provide rich insights into the Sovereign God’s Dominion over the WONDERS of BIRTH and BEING: “Listen to Me, O house of Jacob, and all the remnant of the house of Israel, who have been UPHELD by Me FROM BIRTH, who have been carried from the womb; even to OLD AGE, I am He, and even to gray hairs I will carry you! I have made, and I will bear, even I will carry, and will deliver you” (Isa.46:3-4). The Wonders of Birth begin in the Womb, which we meditated upon yesterday. But God assures us that whoever He upheld from birth and carried from the womb, He is willing and able to bear, carry, and deliver in the world, even to old age or gray hairs. The Ancient of Days never abandons His redeemed no matter our age.

Isaiah 44: 1-2 says: “Yet hear now, O Jacob My servant, and Israel whom I have chosen. Thus says the Lord who MADE YOU and FORMED YOU from the WOMB, who will HELP YOU: ‘Fear not, O Jacob My servant; and you, Jeshurun, whom I have chosen.” Israel later testified: “Listen, O coastlands, to Me, and take heed, you peoples from afar! The Lord has CALLED Me from the WOMB; from the matrix of My mother He has made mention of My name” (Isa.49:1). God declares the end from the beginning (v.10). He who made and formed us also calls us according to His Will. He delineates our being and defines our destiny: “Who is he who speaks and it comes to pass, when the Lord has not commanded it?” (Lam.3:37).

The truths in Isaiah 46 confirm what we had noted in Psalm 139 in which David contemplated the omniscient and omnipotent God, the Lord of being and history. The psalmist proceeded to focus on the loftiest, most marvellous entity in God’s creation: Man, whose being is described as a “wonder” of God: “I will praise You, for I am fearfully and WONDERFULLY MADE; marvelous are Your works, and that my soul knows very well” (Psa.139:14). God clearly affirms that His counsel – as the only true God – shall stand and He will do all His pleasure. By age by His Grace, and are sustained by His Strength!

In Psalm 71: 6-7, shortly after confessing that he had “been upheld from birth”, David declared that he had “become as a wonder to many.” He however did not forget to cry out to the Lord, “Do not cast me off in the time of old age; do not forsake me when my strength fails” (Psa.71:9). Isaiah 46: 4 is God’s answer to that prayer, assuring us who trust in Him that we’ll not just exist and count years as we age, but we’ll remain vibrant, productive, and fruitful in all dimensions of life. Moreover, God assures that even in our old age, He will be the same! Psalm 92:14 tells us, “They shall still bear fruit in old age; they shall be fresh and flourishing, to declare that the Lord is upright; He is my rock, and there is no unrighteousness in Him.”

Today, as I attain the Diamond Age of 60 years on earth, I praise my Lord, my Creator, my Maker, my Redeemer, and my Sustainer!

I affirm in the Name of Jesus that:

The Lord fearfully framed and wonderfully made me in my mother’s womb.

He who made and formed me from the womb is helping me in the world.

The Lord has carried me from the womb and upheld me from birth.

He who upheld me in the womb is upholding me in the world as a wonder to many.

The Lord has called and chosen me from the womb for a great destiny.

He is delineating my being and has defined my destiny.

The Lord is bearing, carrying, strengthening, and sustaining me even to old age and gray hairs.

I shall still bear fruit in old age, and be fresh and flourishing!

Prayer:
Lord, as we thank You for the WONDERS of OUR BIRTH and BEING, uphold us to fruitful old age and gray hairs, in Jesus name.

Our Vision

The vision of KCOM is that:
"the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the Glory of the Lord as the waters cover the seas" (Habakkuk 2:14).
"But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the Glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory even as by the Spirit of the Lord" (2 Corinthians 3:18).
