Bible Meditation:
Psalm 119: 97-105

"I have refrained my feet from every evil WAY, that I might keep YOUR WORD Psalm 119:101

To Walk in God’s Ways is to WALK IN GOD’S WORD: “I have refrained my feet from every evil WAY, that I might keep YOUR WORD” (Psa.119:101). God would have His children learn to walk in His Word – to walk in the Light of His Word. The hymn writer says: “When we walk with the Lord, in the Light of His Word, what a glory He sheds on our way”! Walking in God’s Word keeps our feet from falling into “every evil way” and stirs up the hatred of “every evil way” (vv.101, 104). The Psalmist said: Blessed are the undefiled IN THE WAY, who walk in the law of the Lord! Blessed are those who keep His testimonies, who seek Him with the whole heart! They also do no iniquity; they WALK IN HIS WAYS…How can a young man cleanse his WAY? By taking heed according to YOUR WORD” (Psa.119: 1-3). The WORD WAY is the LORD’S WAY!

We make a lot of decisions every day. Moreover, when a choice is needed quickly, we don’t usually have time to weigh the options – pros and cons. Many people simply “go with their gut,” but believers who desire to walk wisely through the snares and perils of this world require something more reliable than natural instinct. We need Revelation Knowledge and sound Biblical principles to guide us. This is why we must make meditation on the Word a daily habit: “This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall MEDITATE IN IT DAY and NIGHT, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success” (Jos.1:8).

Psalm 1: 1-3 reminds us: “Blessed is the man who WALKS NOT in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the path of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful; but his delight is in the law of the LORD, and in His law he meditates day and night. He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth its fruit in its season, whose leaf also shall not wither; and whatever he does shall prosper.” Let’s learn to walk in God’s Word rather than walk in the counsel of the ungodly, stand in the path of sinners or sit in the seat of the scornful. When our delight is in God’s Word, unceasing fruitfulness will follow our every step, withering will be far from our affairs, and perfect prosperity will be our portion.

We all have a sort of filter in our mind, made up of the principles we were taught as children, the habits we’ve formed, and the information we accept as true. New knowledge coming our way passes through that matrix and is either assimilated or rejected. A mental filter reinforced with Biblical truth is crucial for Christians because it identifies things that align with God’s Word and rejects whatever is sinful, deceptive, unwise, or otherwise harmful for us. That’s why God instructed Moses to instruct His people HOW TO WALK IN HIS WORD: “You shall teach them diligently to your sons and shall talk of them when you sit in your house and when you walk by the way and when you lie down and when you rise up” (Dt.6:7).

Scripture is the key to knowing God and following His Will; we can’t afford to neglect it. Feelings are fleeting; reasoning can be faulty, but God’s Word can never be faulted. Feelings change, but walking with God takes Faith. It takes commitment. It takes consistency. And Faith in His Word never fails.

Beloved, please ask yourself: Am I travelling in the same direction with God and His Word? Are my steps in life moving at the pace of His Word? Are we mutually communing on the Way? Is my attention focused on the Lord and on His Word of have I allowed distractions? Let’s commit to Walking in the Word!

Our Vision

The vision of KCOM is that:
"the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the Glory of the Lord as the waters cover the seas" (Habakkuk 2:14).
"But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the Glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory even as by the Spirit of the Lord" (2 Corinthians 3:18).
