VISITATION FOR ENTHRONEMENT

“At Gibeon the LORD APPEARED to Solomon in a dream by night; and God said, “Ask! What shall I give you?”– 1 Kings 3: 5

King Solomon classically models Divine VISITATION for ENTHRONMENT: “At Gibeon the LORD APPEARED to Solomon in a dream by night; and God said, “Ask! What shall I give you?” (1 Kings 3:5). Divine Visitation is more than a passing encounter. It is a strategic intervention by God that alters the course of human destiny. God steps into a human situation to bring about a supernatural transformation. In today’s meditation passage, Solomon’s enthronement was confirmed not by his political manoeuvring, but by a midnight Visit from the Almighty.

Verse 5 is the turning point: "Ask! What shall I give you?". This represents God’s invitation and open chequebook to a heart that was aligned with Him. God’s desire to partner with us in our destinies. Solomon had just offered a thousand burnt offerings, demonstrating profound love, dedication, and sacrifice (v.4). His Love for the Lord was the catalyst of his devotion. His sacrifice at Gibeon provoked Divine Attention. True devotion attracts the supernatural. God visits those who are sacrificially dedicated to His Purpose. When He visits a life for enthronement, He moves them from a state of “needing help” to a position of “ruling with divine wisdom.”

Solomon humbly acknowledged his inadequacy as a “little child" and his dependence on God (vv.7-8). Humility is the foundation of divine elevation. His specific request was an “understanding heart” or discernment to govern God’s people, prioritizing purpose over personal gain.

God heard, hearkened, and the visitation brought him discernment for enthronement. When we seek His Kingdom first, His visitation brings not only what we asked for but also additional blessings that we did not request: Supernatural Multiplication (vv.13-14). Because Solomon asked for wisdom, God added wealth, honour, and potential long life, demonstrating that He is a Rewarder of those who prioritize His Will.

Beloved, let’s learn to prioritize God’s Kingdom. When we seek His Will, He adds all other things (Matt.6:33). We need wisdom to fulfill our purpose, not just prosperity. We must also cultivate a sacrificial Lifestyle: Just as Solomon offered a thousand sacrifices, we can demonstrate devotion through consistent praise, worship, and sacrificial giving. Let’s acknowledge our need for God's wisdom to navigate life's decisions. Above all, let’s stay ready for Divine Visitation through daily fellowship with God. It can occur in dreams or through sudden opportunities.

In Jesus’ Name, I decree these prophetic affirmations of Divine Enthronement:

A Gibeon season of divine visitation is upon my life to change my story. I am experiencing a supernatural shift from obscurity to prominence.

Because I love the Lord, God will bring destiny-changing opportunities my way. My God will open doors of elevation that no man can shut.

I receive an understanding heart to discern between good and evil in all my dealings. I receive divine secrets that will accelerate my success.

My, “What shall I give you?” moment is now. God will add to me the wealth, riches, honour, and longevity I did not even request.

I am empowered to rule over challenges, not be ruled by them. I am established to reign on earth as a king and priest through God’s Power.
