THE RISK OF DARING TO BE DIFFERENT

Bible Meditation:
Daniel 1: 8-15; 6:1-4

“Life itself is a conglomerate of risks from a toddler’s step to a giant step on the moon. The challenge of risk is epitomized by the motto of the British SAS (Special Air Service) which says ‘who dares wins.’

Daniel dared to be different. It brought promotion to being prime Minister in the land of slavery. He dared to stand for God. It brought praise to the name of God. The three Hebrew youths dared to be different and it brought national revival. Has God given you a dream plan? Do not be afraid to take risks. Many times it is when we lay down all and utterly depend on God with alternative ways out, cut off that we may hit our short, mid or long term goals.

Taking risks in achieving our life’s goals for God exposes us to the chance of experiencing set-backs or failures. Always remember that failure is not final. If it were, men like Abraham Lincoln would not have affected history. Thomas Edison’s experiment with the electric filament took thousands of times. Imagine how long the world would have waited if Edison had given up after a few trials. It is true that winners never quit and quitters never win. Learning to bounce back at such times distinguishes winners from mediocres.

Winston Churchill was invited to Harrow (his old Grammar School) to speak. All the students were waiting to hear this great orator. When Mr Churchill stood up to speak, all he said repeatedly was, ‘never, never, never, give up’!”

Our Vision

The vision of KCOM is that:
"the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the Glory of the Lord as the waters cover the seas" (Habakkuk 2:14).
"But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the Glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory even as by the Spirit of the Lord" (2 Corinthians 3:18).
