Philippians 4:10-20

And MY GOD SHALL SUPPLY ALL your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus – Philippians 4:19

The PROMISES OF DIVINE SUPPLIES in the Bible are founded on Relationship and Stewardship: And MY GOD SHALL SUPPLY ALL your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus (Phi.4:19). God is the ultimate Provider Who meets all needs according to His infinite resources rather than human, economic limitations. Today’s meditation passage provides one of the most comforting promises in the Bible regarding God's care, supplies, and provisions, culminating in the declaration that He will meet every need of His children. This promise is rooted in the context of relational partnership and faithful stewardship between God and His children.

Expressing genuine gratitude, Paul thanked the Philippian church for their financial support during his imprisonment, acknowledging their consistent care. He then revealed the Secret of Contentment, explaining that he had learned to be content, regardless of circumstances – whether in abundance or in want – because his strength came from Christ (vv.11-13). Paul noted their partnership in giving, emphasizing that their giving was not just for the sake of meeting his needs, but a “sweet-smelling aroma” that brought spiritual fruit to their accounts.

With specific reference to verse 19, here are five key points to reflect upon:

  • "And My God" indicates a personal, covenantal relationship. The God who provided for Paul is the same God who will provide for us.
  • "Shall Supply" is a definitive promise, not a wish. It implies filling to the point of overflowing.
  • "All Your Need" is comprehensive, covering physical, spiritual, and emotional needs. God promises to meet needs not to feed greed –unrestrained desires.
  • "According to His Riches": God does not provide out of His resources (a small portion), but according to His resources (proportional to His unlimited wealth).
  • "In Christ Jesus": Means He is the conduit of this provision. God’s Promise is for those who are in covenant relationship with Him.

Several other scriptures also provide insights into divine supplies and provisions for God’s children:

“The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want” (Psa.23:1).

“I have been young, and now am old; Yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his descendants begging bread” (Psa.37:25).

“The bin of flour was not used up, nor did the jar of oil run dry, according to the word of the Lord which He spoke by Elijah” (1Kgs.17:16).

“But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you” (Matt.6:33)

“And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work” (2 Cor.9:8).

Beloved, please join as I declare that the Lord God is my Supernatural Supplier. I trust on Him and rely on His heavenly resources, believing in His opportunities for abundance and breakthroughs, in Jesus Name.

The vision of KCOM is that:
"the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the Glory of the Lord as the waters cover the seas" (Habakkuk 2:14).
"But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the Glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory even as by the Spirit of the Lord" (2 Corinthians 3:18).
