PROMISES OF DELIVERANCE

“The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears, and DELIVERS them out of ALL THEIR TROUBLES” – Psalm 34:17

The Believer can soundly rest on GOD’S PROMISES of DELIVERANCE: “The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears, and DELIVERS them out of ALL THEIR TROUBLES” (Psa.34:17). Today’s meditation passage focuses on the fear of the Lord as a pathway to divine protection, highlighting that God is actively involved in delivering the righteous. The central promise, emphasized in verse 17, assures us that God not only hears the cry of the righteous but actively rescues them from all their troubles. In Christ, the Believer’s Deliverance is an already accomplished feat: “He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love” (Col.1:13).

Psalm 34 describes the marvel of Divine Attentiveness: God's eyes and ears are constantly on the righteous (v.15). While He delivers the righteous, His face is against evil-doers (v.16). The Lord hears the cry of the righteous and delivers them from all their troubles; offering Total Rescue (v.17). He has a “soft spot” for “brokenness”: The Lord is near to the broken-hearted, saving those with a contrite spirit (v.18). God’s protective covering is comprehensive: The righteous are delivered from all afflictions, with their bones protected (vv.19-20). Those who take refuge in the Lord are redeemed and not condemned (v. 22). God offers both immediate, earthly and eternal deliverance!

Other key scriptural Promises of Deliverance are:

Psalm 50:15 – “Call upon Me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you shall glorify Me.”

Psalm 91:15 – “He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him and honor him.”

2 Thessalonians 3:3 – “But the Lord is faithful, who will establish you and guard you from the evil one.”

2 Timothy 4:18 – “And the Lord will deliver me from every evil work and preserve me for His heavenly kingdom. To Him be glory forever and ever. Amen!”

I declare in the Name of Jesus, that:

Because I fear the Lord, I shall not lack any good thing. Every trap set by the enemy for my life shall backfire upon them.

I am not a candidate for shame or destruction; and because the Lord is my Refuge, I am delivered from all anxieties and fears.

My cries for help are heard by the Highest; and every mountain of confusion or trouble standing before me is removed.

God is protecting my spirit, soul, and body. I receive the grace to keep my tongue from evil and my lips from deceit.

I am stepping out of the valley of affliction into my season of testimony, with the Angel of the Lord encamping around me and all mine.

I am redeemed from the power of the grave and the snares of the wicked. I shall live to testify of God's Goodness; all in Jesus’ Name.
