POWER TO TREAD

Behold, I give unto you POWER TO TREAD on serpents and scorpions, and over all the POWER of the ENEMY: and nothing shall by any means hurt you – Luke 10:19

We have seen that the will of God is for His children to TAKE OVER POWER from the adversary, Satan. The consequence of your taking over power is: “to TREAD on serpents and scorpions, and OVER ALL THE POWER OF THE ENEMY” with the assurance that “NOTHING shall by any means hurt you”! It takes power to STAND and WITHSTAND (Eph.6:10-11). It takes power also to TREAD! In particular, it takes Power to tread over serpents and scorpions. The Bible identifies Satan as “that old serpent” (Rev.12:9; 20:2). The scorpion symbolizes evil and pain. It takes power to tread over ALL the power of the Enemy!

The POWER TO TREAD comes from God: the power to tread over forces of darkness and workers of wickedness. In the natural, it is the human FEET that are used to stand and to tread. Let us meditate on what the Bible says about the Believer’s FEET:

 Your feet signify DYNAMISM: “He maketh my FEET like hinds' feet, and setteth me upon my high places” (Psa.18:33).
 Your feet are instruments of DOMINION: “Thou madest him to have DOMINION over the works of thy hands; thou hast put all things under his FEET” (Ps.8:6).
 Your feet are anointed to TREAD and TRAMPLE: “Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under FEET” (Ps.91:13).
 Your feet are empowered to BRUISE Satan’s head: “And the God of peace shall BRUISE SATAN under your FEET shortly. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen” (Rom.16:20).
 God provides divine defense for your feet: “…your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace” (Eph.6:15).
 Your Feet are ANOINTED for FEATS; they are anointed to FLOURISH! 1 Samuel 2:9 declares that God “will keep the FEET of His saints.”

When you are IN CHRIST, there is no room for fear or timidity. You are empowered to TREAD in TRIUMPH over all the Power of the enemy: over principalities, powers, rulers of darkness, wicked spirits, diviners, sorcerers, witches and over all agents of wickedness and emissaries of darkness. Neither deceptive serpents nor destructive scorpions will ever be able to harm or poison you. The Lord will keep your feet safe and secure from the NETS and NETWORKS of evil. Your feet will never fall into the traps and snares of Satan. God will set your feet upon the rock and establish your goings (Psa.40:2). You will tread triumphantly over the rough and tough terrains of life!
