POWER FOR PERFORMANCE (7)

“That I may KNOW HIM and the POWER of HIS RESURRECTION…” – Philippians 3:10a

Authentic POWER for PERFORMANCE derives from the revelation and reality of the Resurrection Power: “that I may KNOW HIM and the POWER of HIS RESURRECTION, and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death, if, by any means, I may attain to the resurrection from the dead” (Phi.3:10-11). Paul’s heart-cry was that through Christ’s sacrificial death and resurrection, sin was conquered forever, giving access for Believers to know and have eternal life. As Paul pursued knowing and treasuring Jesus He saw through his past, present, and future with Christ-centred lenses. By His Grace and Mercy, may we also continue to know the Lord Jesus Christ and experience His Resurrection Power work in and through us to successfully accomplish His Will and perform His purposes, in Jesus’ name.

Performance, in the Christian life, is not about earning salvation through self-effort, but about releasing the innate capacity of God within us to accomplish His purpose. Paul reevaluated his impressive background, calling it “rubbish” compared to the surpassing knowledge of Christ. Many believers struggle to perform because they rely on their own strength, talents, or past achievements. Divine Power for Performance is not a self-help mechanism: it is the resurrection life of Jesus Christ active in a surrendered heart and life.

Paul counted all worldly gains – accomplishments and pedigree – as loss for the sake of Christ (vv.7-8). True Performance begins when we stop relying on our own competence and start depending on Christ’s excellence. Paul’s primary goal was not just to be “good,” but to know Jesus intimately (v.10) – a deep, experiential connection, beyond intellectual knowledge. The Divine Power for Performance is the Power of Resurrection, the same supernatural force that raised Jesus from the dead. It authorizes us to break bad habits, defeat addictions, overcome humanly insurmountable obstacles, and fulfil divine assignments that are humanly impossible. Ultimately, true performance demands dying to self-will and selfish ambition. We cannot know the Power of Resurrection without first embracing the fellowship of His sufferings (v.10).

The intimate, transformative, personal relationship with Christ, serves as the engine for all Christian activity, including the release of the “Power of His Resurrection.” This is not just power for heaven, but power for now – to break limitations, function excellently, and bear fruit in every good work. The prerequisites however, are “the fellowship of His sufferings” and “being confirmed to His death” (v.11). When we are conformed to His death (self-denial), we become candidates for His Power! Empowered by the Lord, I declare in Jesus’ name, that:

I operate under open heavens and receive divine power for exceptional performance. The same power that raised Jesus from the dead is active in my physical body, bringing healing and strength.

I am empowered by the Spirit of God to produce supernatural results. My steps are ordered by the Lord, and I walk in divine wisdom to solve complex problems.

Every obstacle standing in the way of my destiny is dismantled. The Lord is strengthening me to press forward, and I will not go weary in my race. I am a pace-setter, and the Glory of God is expressed through my life daily!
