UP-PERSON IN A DOWN WORLD

When men are cast down, then thou shalt say, There is lifting up; and he shall save the humble person – Job 22: 29

We have established that Wisdom refers to the HOW-TOs of Life. For example: How to be an UP-Person in a Down World! God wants you to be an Up Person in this Down World! Wisdom makes this possible. There is a ‘How’ to achieving this. Jesus – our Wisdom – has overcome the world and all the ‘depression’ therein (Jh.16:33). The world will want you to be ‘down’ and ‘out’, but when you remain enthusiastically excited about life, you’ll become a phenomenal wonder to your world. There is something compelling and captivating about a consistently enthusiastic, passionate, and praise-full believer.

Notwithstanding the myriad of problems in the world today, you can keep your spirit high even in this ‘down world’! Regardless of your past failures, physical condition, domestic situation or financial challenges, you can step into victory zone on the platform of Wisdom. God intended His children to be “Up”: “and raised us UP together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus” (Eph.2:6). God has a Wisdom-Plan to lift and keep you perpetually UP – spiritually, mentally, emotionally, and in all dimensions of life. Here are four Wisdom Nuggets to being an UP-Person:

1. Know Your GOD: “…but the people that do know their God shall be strong, and do exploits” (Dan.11:32b). Know Christ, the Son of God. The Prince of Peace is the Giver and Guarantor of that Peace that surpasses human understanding. Spend quality time to develop accurate, correct and proper understanding of Who God is and what His purposes are.
2. Delimit the Devil: recognise Satan’s limitations. He is a liar, deceiver, manipulator, and eternal loser; an ex-employee of heaven who got “fired” and is awaiting eternal destruction. Satan and his demons are under Christ’s and the believer’s dominion (Eph.1:22; Rom.8:37). Even when you feel like you’re at your lowest ebb, you are still on top of the devil!
3. Discern and define Relationships: understand the purposes of your association with others. Relationships can add to, subtract from, multiply or divide your destiny. Develop the ability to listen to God concerning the role of every relationship in your life. Relationships are the fabric of living; handle them with care and purpose. Walk with the wise (Pro.13:20).
4. Reach for your Potential in God: You are who He says you are. Do not conform to the world nor succumb to Satan’s lies (Rom.12:2). Begin to feed your positives and starve your negatives. Stop talking doubt, fear, lack, and problems. Start declaring the Possibilities of Faith: “When men are cast down, you shall say, “There is Lifting Up…” (Job 22:29).
