Romans 8: 18-30

And we know that ALL THINGS work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to HIS PURPOSE – Romans 8:28

Welcome to a Marvellous March – our Month of PERFECTIONS of PURPOSE AND VISION: And we know that ALL THINGS work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to HIS PURPOSE(v.28). In other words, “ALL THINGS work together… according GOD’S PURPOSE”!  If purpose as vital as to determine the outcome of all things, we ought to be solid in its understanding and practical manifestation in our lives. All of creation revolves around “the PURPOSE of HIM who works all things according to the counsel of His will” (Eph.1:11). God works and perfects ALL THINGS, including things relating to our lives, “according to the counsel of His will.” Nothing is accidental with Him. We were born by His Purpose and for His Purpose. But we have a responsibility to align with Him for the Perfection of His Purpose.

In January, we meditated on the Prophetic Theme for the Year – Divine Perfections, emphasizing the multi-dimensionality of this Prophetic Word. Thereafter, we sent ‘Judah’ – Praise – first, as we pondered on the Perfections of Praise. In order for the Lord to perfect all that concerns us in life, it is vital that we understand the meaning and significance of Purpose; how Purpose becomes Vision; and how to discover, discern, and fully fulfil our divinely-ordained purposes in life. Purpose means “reason for being” – why something or someone exists. My Life’s Purpose is why I am here on earth; that is, the chief reason for my being. God has a Purpose for everything and everyone He created. God operates by Plans and Purposes, and He has plans for every creature and a purpose for every plan.

Purpose is intricately connected to Vision, Mission, and Destiny. Let’s see briefly, how these divine terms relate.

Vision is the unveiling of Purpose: the God-given revelation of God’s purpose to be accomplished by a person. Divine Vision is a divine picture with a divine purpose. My life’s Vision is the revelation of my reason for being. A vision is insight into or the unfolding of a divine plan as it relates to a nation, a group of people or an individual. God has put within each of us the spiritual power of vision: “Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us (Eph.3:20). Purpose is therefore not an end in itself; Purpose evolves into Vision, while the commitment to the Vision is what is called Mission!

What about Destiny? My Destiny refers to the full package of God's purpose for my life – my divinely appointed or ordained future. Destiny is what God, in His divine Will and Counsel, has predetermined me to be, become or attain. Destiny is the visible and tangible manifestation of my life’s Purpose, in space and time, and for an eternal impact. Nothing is comparable to a life that is established on and directed by Purpose, running with accurate, clear, heavenly Vision, and manifesting meaningful mission. These are the basis of true fulfilment in life. The contrast would be a failed and wasted life on earth. It is therefore extremely important to discover and pursue Purpose and to discern, clarify and run with a dynamic Vision, for the fulfilment of Destiny.

A person’s Purpose in life is the very meaning of his or her existence, without which such a person would lack identity, value and significance. One who fails to discover or pursue Purpose will easily fall prey to the illusion of a life devoid of essence; a life that does not matter and which may likely end up with no tangible impact in time and eternity. The Bible offers much insight into what it means to live with a unique purpose, clear vision, and meaningful mission. God’s Purpose is eternal, and through the Perfections of Purpose and Vision, He’ll ensure that all things work together for good for us who love Him!

Our Vision

The vision of KCOM is that:
"the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the Glory of the Lord as the waters cover the seas" (Habakkuk 2:14).
"But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the Glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory even as by the Spirit of the Lord" (2 Corinthians 3:18).
