Bible Meditation:
Ephesians 2: 1-13

“For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should WALK in them” – Ephesians 2:10

Real Christianity is a NEW WALK on THE NEW WAY: “For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should WALK in them(Eph.2:10). Almost everyone loves a good walk on a splendid pathway on a cool day. Scripture speaks of our manner of life as our walk. Everyone has a way or pattern of life in which they walk. Christianity involves a transformation from one manner of walk on a former way, to a new walk on a new Way. Our Lord Jesus Christ made us alive – by His Saving Grace. He re-positioned us to walk on “a NEW and LIVING WAY which He consecrated for us, through the veil, that is, His flesh” (Heb.10: 20). The Christian Life was made for walking!

Ephesians 2:10 describes where we are now, in Christ. Prior to encountering the Saviour, we were ‘walking corpses’: “And you He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins, in which you once WALKED according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience, among whom also we all once conducted ourselves in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, just as the others” (Eph.2: 1-3). In times past, our spiritual state as unregenerate souls was that, despite our fine intellect, great educational attainments, massive material possessions, or huge investments, we were “sons of disobedience,” under the invisible control of “the prince of the power of the air” – Satan, and his demonic network!

In Christ, we discover the Paths of Life (Psa.16:11). And ultimately, the New Walk on the New Way produces New Works! It is a Walk of Good Works on a New Way! Our former walk in “trespasses and sins” was the walk of death; the walk we walked in Adam. “But God,” who is rich in mercy, saved us by grace through faith as a gift (v.4). Having been saved, we are now free to walk a new walk – a walk of good works. We were not saved by good works, but saved unto good works. If God prepared them for us, we should put on our shoes and head out. Good works show that our faith is not dead: “Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead” (Jam.2:17).

Our good works flow from changed lives. But we are not left to guess what these good works should be. Whereas the law once was a mirror which showed us our sin, God’s Word is now our Life Guide – a lamp to our feet and a light to our path (Psa.119:105). The Word instructs us in our Walk of good works, manifested in transformed lives. As we increasingly grow in the knowledge of and love for the truth, we’ll be committed to walking in God’s Ways, such that whatever we do, we do it unto Him: “whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men” (Col.3:23); “to the glory of God” (1Cor.10:31b).

We are not called to walk in our own strength – neither at the beginning nor at the end of our Christian life. Our Walk can be likened to how we take hold of the hands of a toddler just learning to walk or of the aged saint whose balance is unsteady. Likewise, in our Christian Walk we need a hand. Our Lord takes us by the hand and leads us in this New Walk on the New Way. This Christian life was made for walking! Let’s receive fresh Grace to forge on into our glorious future and destinies!

Our Vision

The vision of KCOM is that:
"the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the Glory of the Lord as the waters cover the seas" (Habakkuk 2:14).
"But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the Glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory even as by the Spirit of the Lord" (2 Corinthians 3:18).
