Bible Meditation:
Exodus 14: 10-31

But lift up your rod, and STRETCH OUT YOUR HAND over the sea and divide it…” – Exodus 14:16a

Encoded in Scriptures are MYSTERIES of HANDS and DESTINY that God alone decodes by His Spirit: “And the LORD said to Moses, “Why do you cry to Me? Tell the children of Israel to go forward. But lift up your rod, and STRETCH OUT YOUR HAND over the sea and divide it. And the children of Israel shall go on dry ground through the midst of the sea (Exo.14:15-16). We devoted the first eight months of this Year of Hearts, Hands and the Blessed Life, to truths on God’s Heart relative to human hearts. We focused last month on the HAND of the ALMIGHTY GOD. We are now better equipped to meditate on scriptures concerning HANDS and their relevance to LIFE and DESTINY.

Every physical organ in the body has a spiritual significance. For examples, the head symbolises our destiny; the legs, movement or progress; and the hands, action, labour, skill, handiwork, productivity, or profit. God’s Word says a great deal about HANDS; not only His own holy, unlimited, unstoppable Hand, but also the value of the human hand, an extremely functional and frequently used part of the body. Beyond physical functions – to touch, hold, pick, carry, embrace, write, give, take, fight, feed, and perform diverse other activities – hands have deeper spiritual meanings and destiny-related connotations. Our hands represent more than mere skin and bones. They may reveal our age or the things we’ve gone through. They may be smooth, soft, calloused, rough, or even dirty, but there’s something unique and special about our hands.

As Israel stood on the shores of the Red Sea with the enemy closing in fast, Moses cried out to God. The reply he got could be paraphrased: “Why are you standing there looking at Me? I have told you, EVERYTHING YOU NEED IS IN YOUR HAND. Forward march! Lift your arm. Take the rod in YOUR HAND and stretch it in front of you over the Sea.” Moses did, and the Red Sea divided for Israel to cross over (v.21). At God’s command, Moses again stretched out his hand for the Sea to roll back over the wicked pursuers, after all the Israelites had crossed: “And Moses stretched out HIS HAND over the sea; and when the morning appeared, the sea returned to its full depth, while the Egyptians were fleeing from it. So the Lord overthrew the Egyptians in the midst of the sea” (vv.26-27). There are Mysteries locked up in our hands!

The destinies of hundreds of thousands or perhaps millions of people hung on what one man did or refused to do with HIS HAND! Moses’ first divine encounter with the mysteries in his hand was when the Lord called him on assignment: “So the Lord said to him, “WHAT IS IN YOUR HAND?” He said, “A rod” (Exo.4:2). Thereafter, the Lord performed diverse signs and wonders by the Rod in the HAND of MOSES. Ironically, this was the same Hand that held the staff that Moses used to strike the Rock twice, and terminated his ministry (Num.20: 9-12).

Hands are vital to Life and Destiny. Scriptures unveil Mysteries of Hands as Tools of Life: Partnered hands in the home; diligent hands at work; faithful hands in service and ministry; the hand as an instrument of power transfer; laying on of hands; hands and miracles; hands and healings; hands and prosperity, profit, and productivity; anointed hands, blessed hands, busy hands, creative hands, dynamic hands, graceful hands, merciful hands, fighting hands, skilled hands, trained hands, profiting hands, lifted hands, valiant and victorious hands.

As we meditate on Mysteries of Hands, we’ll come to realise that all that God has purposed for us in life – personal development, devotion, career, home, relationships, work, spiritual warfare, service, and ministry – are connected to our Hands! Everything we need for Life is in our Hand. Under God, our Destiny is in our Hand! God has supplied us with all we need. It’s time to “stretch out” our Hands by Faith and at God’s instructions, for seamless delivery of dynamic, prosperous, productive, fulfilled, victorious, and God-glorifying lives and destinies.

Our Vision

The vision of KCOM is that:
"the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the Glory of the Lord as the waters cover the seas" (Habakkuk 2:14).
"But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the Glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory even as by the Spirit of the Lord" (2 Corinthians 3:18).
