Bible Meditation:
Luke 2:40-46

So when they DID NOT FIND HIM, they returned to Jerusalem, SEEKING HIM – Luke 2:45 (NKJV)

Joseph and Mary went to Jerusalem for the yearly Passover feast. On their way back, they left Jesus behind. They were so engrossed in activities that they left behind the Reason for the feast. They lost Jesus, temporarily. There are certain losses that are beneficial, such as losing sin or whatever keeps you in sin (Mt.5:29-30). There are things you lose that do not make much difference. There are some things you lose which can be replaced. Through God’s help, a lost opportunity, job, or contract can be regained. But there are certain losses that can hardly be recovered from. Losing Jesus is losing everything.

We often get so carried away with religious routines and church activities that we are left with little or no time to cultivate our communion with the Lord of the church. We stand the risk of injuring our relationship with Him – the risk of losing Jesus! Losing Jesus is unthinkable! Losing Him in the midst of activities is could be catastrophic.

  • Jesus is our Helper (Heb.13:6). Anyone who loses Jesus has lost the Helper of the helpless and Hope of the hopeless.
  • Jesus is our Healer (Exo.15:26). Whoever loses Him loses all hope for healing and may likely remain in sickness.
  • Jesus is the Light of the world (Jh.9:4-5). Losing Him means walking in the darkness of sin, ignorance and bondage.
  • Jesus is the Author of Life. He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life (Jh.10:10; 14:6). No Jesus, no way, no truth, no Life!
  • Jesus is our Shepherd (Psa.23:1-3). Anyone who loses Jesus has lost the Source of provision, guidance and direction.
  • Jesus is the Hope of Glory (Col.1:27). Your glory is embedded in Christ. Losing Him is losing the access to that glory.
  • Fullness of Joy and eternal pleasures are in His Presence (Psa.16:11). Losing Jesus is forsaking Joy and true pleasure.

Check the state of your spiritual life. Is it ebbing? Is the candle of your spirit waning? Is your fire flickering as you drown in diverse secular and ministerial activities? Perhaps it’s high time for a personal recess. Your personal relationship with Jesus is more important to God than your service. A poor relationship can nullify your service for Him. Rather than lose Jesus, take a break from all the ‘busy-ness’. Retrace your steps. Return to your first love. Do all that is needful to have Jesus back now!

Prayer:
Lord, You have promised to never leave or forsake me; help me to never lose You to religious routines and fruitless busy-ness in Jesus name.

Our Vision

The vision of KCOM is that:
"the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the Glory of the Lord as the waters cover the seas" (Habakkuk 2:14).
"But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the Glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory even as by the Spirit of the Lord" (2 Corinthians 3:18).
