LONGING FOR JESUS

Bible Meditation:
Luke 2:25-35

He would not see death before he had seen the Lord’s Christ – Luke 2:26

People rush through life and hurry from pay-check to payment and from work to home with depressing monotony. Many of them feel dry and empty inside, longing for something to make their existence more meaningful, purposeful, and fulfilling. In particular, the end of the year is typically a period of hustle-and-bustle. Shoppers flood the markets and malls hunting for last-minute gifts, pleasure, and happiness. One wonders what all the hectic rush and worry are for?

More often than not, Christ is lost among the throng; His Voice drowned in the cacophony of noise. Luke, chapter 2, tells the story of Simeon who testified to finding true fulfilment. The Holy Spirit had assured Simeon that he would not die until he had seen the promised Messiah. All his life, he had been longing for the Lord. Then that phenomenal day came and Simeon came to the temple to meet Jesus, and his peace and contentment became guaranteed.

There are people all around us who would have this same peace and contentment if they could just encounter Jesus. There is a longing in every heart that only Jesus can satisfy. The Psalmist described how his heart pants after God, as a hart pants after the water brooks (Psa.42:1). Seeing the multitudes each day should remind us to pray that the Holy Spirit will touch their hearts and make them want to see Jesus. They may be rushing around running the rat race, but in their hearts there is a void waiting to be filled by the Messiah, the Lord Jesus. All such need to say is, “Into my heart, into my heart. Come into my heart Lord Jesus. Come in today. Come in to stay. Come into my heart, Lord Jesus”!

Prayer:
Lord, create in me a deep desire and heart-longing for Jesus and let these be fulfilled to Your glory in Jesus name.

Our Vision

The vision of KCOM is that:
"the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the Glory of the Lord as the waters cover the seas" (Habakkuk 2:14).
"But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the Glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory even as by the Spirit of the Lord" (2 Corinthians 3:18).
