LIGHT LIFTS

The Jews had LIGHT and GLADNESS, JOY and honour – Esther 8:16

LIGHT LIFTS; but darkness depresses. Light elevates, motivates, and stimulates. Darkness deflates and discourages. Light excites life and causes the heart to rejoice; whereas darkness dampens the spirit and weakens the heart. God leads to lift!

The Father’s Will is that we walk in the LIGHT of LIFE, as we follow His Son: “Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, “I am the LIGHT of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the LIGHT of LIFE” (John 8:12). Stagnation, stagnancy, and stumbling are foreign to followers of the Light. Dynamism, divine acceleration, and Lifting are our portions. God delivers our souls from death, our eyes from tears, and our feet from falling (Ps.116:8). His Word is a lamp unto our feet, and light to our path (Ps.119:105).

Proverbs 13:9 says, “The LIGHT of the righteous rejoices: but the lamp of the wicked shall be put out.” Proverbs 15:30 also says, “The LIGHT of the EYES rejoices the heart: and a good report makes the bones fat.” What kind of report are your eyes releasing – good or evil; encouraging or discouraging? Mathew 6:22 says: “The LIGHT of the body is the EYE: if therefore your eye is single, your whole body will be FULL of LIGHT.” What are your eyes projecting: the light of hope and joy or the darkness of sadness and despair? Your eyes are the windows into your soul; and you can significantly touch others with your SMILE. Someone said, “You are never fully dressed until you wear a SMILE”!

God also smiles on His people. Favour is His Smile. This was Jehovah’s perpetual Blessing on Israel: “The LORD bless you and keep you; the LORD make His face shine upon you, and be gracious to you; The LORD lift up His countenance upon you, and give you peace” (Num.6:24-26). The day His Smile beamed on Esther, Mordecai and the Jews in Persia became the day of their deliverance and rejoicing. Esther 8:16 says, “The Jews had LIGHT and GLADNESS, JOY and honour.” When God lifts up “the light of His countenance upon us,” we experience His Gladness and Joy (Ps.4:6-7).

Psalm 56:13 says, “For You have delivered my soul from death. Have You not delivered my feet from falling, that I may walk before God in the LIGHT of the LIVING?” When you walk in the Light of Life, your soul is delivered from death and your feet from falling. Then, “when men are cast down” you can confidently declare: “There is a Lifting-Up” (Job 22:29). Alleluia! LIGHT is a LIFTER any day!!
