JOY: SPIRITUAL ENGINE OIL

You love righteousness and hate wickedness; therefore God, Your God, has anointed You with the OIL of GLADNESS more you’re your companions – Psalm 45:7

The Bible severally describes JOY as OIL. The Joy of the LORD is the engine oil of your spirit – your spiritual Engine Oil. JOY is the Lubricant for your Life. In the absence of a lubricant, life will be full of friction. Remove the oil from an engine and the engine knocks. When the lubricant leaks or dries up, friction follows, and damages are done. I pray that the engines of our lives will not knock; the engines of our spirits will not knock.

Isaiah 61:2-3 states describes the Messiah’s ministry thus: “…to comfort all who mourn, to console those who mourn in Zion, to give them beauty for ashes, the OIL of JOY for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they may be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that He may be glorified” (Isa.61:2b-3).

Like oil, the level of Joy can be gauged. The measure of oil in any heart may be empty, leaking, low, full or overflowing! Don’t let the enemy leak your joy. Just like you’ll check your car’s engine oil regularly, give attention to the state of joy in your heart: “keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it spring the issues of life” (Pro.4:23). God does not desire that you move through life’s journey with oil that is almost on empty or partially gauged oil. He wants you to move with fully-gauged oil. It’s time to block every oil leakage. It’s time to offer your vessel for a re-filling.

You have a choice regarding the level of your oil of joy. I choose for my oil to be perpetually full and running over. Check the level of your oil of joy regularly to ensure that it is always FULL. The LORD says: Until now you have asked nothing in My name. Ask, and you will receive, that your JOY may be FULL (Jh.16:24). No empty oil; no leaking oil in the name of Jesus. The same oil of gladness and anointing of joy that caused God’s Son to be elevated above His companions guarantees your access “into the king’s palace” (Psa. 45:15)
