JESUS: REASON FOR THE SEASON

Bible Meditation:
John 1:1-14

He was in the world, and the world was made through Him, and the world did not know Him – John 1:10

Oh, how great is the wonder that God came to earth in the Person of Jesus Christ! Down from His Glory, our God and Saviour came. The Best Gift in the world was wrapped in a manger. To His own He was a stranger. That’s the mystery of His ever-living story. Through Jesus’ sinless life and sacrificial death, we have the joy of sins forgiven and an abundant life. God made His home with us and in us, that we might ultimately make our home with Him for all of eternity.

What does Christmas mean to you? Is it just like a brief interlude in the business of living? Is it just an opportunity to have a few days off to relax with family and friends? Is it a time for parties, meals, and get-togethers? Is it merely a time to give and get gifts? Christmas means these, but much more. It is unfortunate that multitudes of people celebrate the birth of Jesus, but have no vital contact with Him. They've forgotten the reason for His coming. Jesus came to give hope to a hopeless world, His peace to troubled hearts and minds, and healing to the hurting. Jesus came to provide Salvation for the entire human race – for whoever believes (Jh.3:16): “Whoever will may come”!

Salvation is the purpose for Christmas. Our Saviour is the Reason for this Season. In all the excitement of Christmas, let’s draw attention to the Saviour. Like John the Baptist, let’s point others to the One who came into the world but was not recognized by it: "He came unto His own, and His own received Him not. But as many as received Him, to them gave He power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on His name" (Jh. 1:11-12). The greetings we share, the cards we send, and the presents we give must be motivated by our love for Jesus. After all, He is the real Reason for the season

Our Vision

The vision of KCOM is that:
"the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the Glory of the Lord as the waters cover the seas" (Habakkuk 2:14).
"But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the Glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory even as by the Spirit of the Lord" (2 Corinthians 3:18).
