INSPIRATION

But there is a spirit in man: and the INSPIRATION of the Almighty giveth them understanding – Job 32:8 (KJV)

“INSPIRATION of the Almighty” – this infers that Inspiration belongs to the Almighty God. The Light of Inspiration is that supernatural divine influence granted to those who wrote the Scriptures, which rendered their writings infallible: “All Scripture is given by INSPIRATION of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness” (2Tim.3:16). Inspiration however did not end with the canon of the scriptures. He who inspired saints of old is still engaged in the same mission today. His Inspiration is still giving His people understanding. Inspiration speaks of the ‘Spirit in motion’ – the move of God’s Spirit upon our mental faculty – supernatural stimulation of the human mentality. This is similar to how “the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters” at creation and immediately, Light was unleashed (Gen.1:2-3).

Inspiration invites Wisdom. As the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the deep, the Light of Wisdom came on the scene to accomplish the work of creation. Proverbs 3:19 confirms that: “The LORD by wisdom founded the earth; by understanding he established the heavens.” Also, “O LORD, how manifold are Your works! In wisdom You made them all; the earth is full of Your riches” (Psa.104:24). God’s creative Agent – Wisdom – was released as His Spirit moved upon the deep, resulting in the balance and beauty of creation. The same Divine Wisdom is packaged in the Bible and delivered to humanity through the channel of Inspiration, as His Spirit moved upon the hearts of the human writers of the books in His Book (2Tim.3:16). And so, the Scriptures are products of divine Inspiration, not ‘dead’ and dry Intellectualism.

Inspiration is the breath of the Almighty moving upon your mental faculty. It connects you to God’s “higher thoughts” and “higher ways” (Isa.55:8-9). It is the master key to supernatural intelligence for an impactful life and a maximized destiny. The Spirit of God in motion in your mentality empowers you to perform great feats, granting access into the depths of Wisdom. When you camp with God’s Spirit in the sphere of inspiration, you’ll flow in supernatural intelligence. He’ll move you out of mental blockage into realms of divine enlargement. Remarkably, Inspiration defies age, status or color. Elihu said: “Days should speak, and multitude of years should teach wisdom. But there is a spirit in man; and the inspiration of the Almighty giveth them understanding. Great men are not always wise: neither do the aged understand judgement” (Job 32:7-9 KJV).

Music and Meditation are two catalysts of Inspiration. Singing God’s Word from the heart stirs His Spirit in you. Ephesians 5:19 says: “speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord.” Elisha invited a minstrel when he was in dire need of inspiration to handle an urgent national issue, and “the hand of the LORD came on him” (2Kgs.3:15). God inhabits the praises of His people (Psa.22:3). Inspiration is also summoned through meditation: “the meditation of my heart shall bring understanding” (Psa.49:3). Without the breath of the Almighty, dormancy prevails, but with inspiration comes understanding and surpassing intelligence.

Finally, you must learn to resist and cast down the enemies of inspiration – fear, anxiety, and worries – which try to weigh down your spirit and paralyse your mind (2Cor.10:5). It’s time to begin to sing songs of praise, to celebrate, jubilate, and meditate your way into heights of Inspiration!
