Matthew 5: 13-16

“Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father in heaven” – Matthew 5:16

David O. Oyedepo’s “Maximise Destiny” is a manual of instructions on how to make IMPACT in DESTINY: “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven” (Mt.5:16). Matthew 5:13-16 is the author’s first scripture reference. He writes: “This book is about affecting your world positively. It is about making the most of your life, standing out among your peers, being unique, a plus not a minus, and contributor not a consumer, a distributor not a beggar.” By virtue of redemption, the Believer in Christ is an Agent of Impact, akin to Salt, Light, and an Elevated City! We are pacesetters by destiny, taste-givers, preservers from decadence, set for a uniquely attractive and shining life.

Following the Introduction are twelve inspiring chapters on the following sub-themes:

Attitude is fundamental: “Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus” (Phi.2:5). Attitude defines altitude. Strength of Character determines greatness in destiny. Twelve fundamental attitudes that guarantee impactful living are the attitudes of being decisive, strong, disciplined, determined, focused, upright, merciful, selective, sensitive, joyful, meek, and grateful.

Vision is vital for a life of perpetual impact: “Where there is no vision, the people perish...” (Pro.29:18). To perish means to be stripped of honour and dignity; to lose worth or value. To live without vision is to die in frustration. A life of impact begins with a sense of mission and a discovery of purpose – that’s Vision! God’s end-time Church is a Visionary Army (Joel 2:1-7).

Insight is essential: “...the people who know their God shall be strong, and carry out great exploits” (Dan.11:32b). Impact is a direct product of Insight! Knowledge determines the degree of Impact. Those who know their God will command attention by reason of their results. By Word Encounters, they’ll stand out as a city on a hill, which cannot be hid. No excuse for failure!

The Mind is crucial: “We have the Mind of Christ” (1Cor.2:16b). Without the use of our mind, no one will mind us. A kingdom champion like Joseph made impact through the use of his mind. The Church must revive the role of the mind in impact-making. The main functions of the mind are: Learning, knowing, understanding, meditation, reasoning, and Imagination. Every Believer has a regenerated, anointed, and sound mind. This can be developed through studies, research, meditation, and impartation.

Obstacles to a Life of Impact: “For a great door and effectual is operative, and there are many adversaries” (1Cor.16:9). These include: Sin, accepting the status quo, the trap of past failures, pride of past achievements, comparison, and fear.

Inspiration is the Gateway to Impact. Supernatural Intelligence is the product of Inspiration (Job. 32:8; 1Cor.2:11).

Divine Wisdom – its dimensions and manifestations, Hard-work or Diligence, and the Supernatural are pertinent priorities.

Our Vision

The vision of KCOM is that:
"the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the Glory of the Lord as the waters cover the seas" (Habakkuk 2:14).
"But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the Glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory even as by the Spirit of the Lord" (2 Corinthians 3:18).
