I SHALL NOT WANT FOR REST

Date:

Bible Meditation:
Hebrews 4: 1-11.

He makes me to lie down in green pastures – Psalm 23: 2a

My Shepherd is committed to giving me REST. He addresses my need for rest and nourishment. In addition to having enough food, it was important for the sheep to have a place to relax, ruminate and properly process the food. The shepherd skilfully seeks out proper pastures for the sheep to graze. Eating in a state of anxiety and unrest hinders digestion.

It is up to ME to follow my Shepherd, but it is His promise and responsibility to provide the REST. God desires that His Rest becomes my reality. He will do whatever it takes to get me to relax in His green pasture and eat. His house – Zion – is a sanctuary of Rest and Peace (Ps.46:10). IN CHRIST, we have REST. In Him, we have peace with God and the peace of God (Rom.5:1; Phil.4:7). The Lord empowers us to conquer over anxieties, worries or perplexities. Why should you worry when you have the Lord as Shepherd? Before the enemy can touch the sheep, he has to get past the shepherd.

The devil is a restless rebel; he hates it for humanity to have rest. Our adversary is engaged in the busy-ness of “going to and fro in the earth, and…walking up and down in it” (Job 1:7). Like a restless, roaring lion, he walks about, “seeking whom he may devour” (1Pet.5:8). Rest starts from within. That’s why Satan tries to strike at our ‘rest’ by disturbing our peace of mind. The battleground is your Mind. Therefore, it is time to put on the Shepherd’s Mind (Amos 3:3; Phi.2:5).

The Lord is your Rest. You are not alone. Your soul is safe; “For He Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you”” (Heb.13:5b). He says in Mt. 11:28, “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you REST.” Consistently, the Lord demonstrated Victory over all storms of life (Mk.4:35-41; Mt. 8:5-13). He has the solution to any challenge that could ever face you in life!

Our Vision

The vision of KCOM is that:
"the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the Glory of the Lord as the waters cover the seas" (Habakkuk 2:14).
"But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the Glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory even as by the Spirit of the Lord" (2 Corinthians 3:18).
