HEBRON: GATEWAY INTO GREATNESS

Date:
Monday, April 6, 2015
Bible Meditation:
2 Samuel 5:1-5

In Hebron he reigned over Judah seven years and six months: and in Jerusalem he reigned thirty and three years over all Israel and Judah” – 2 Samuel 5:5

“David sought access to the rulership of Israel and God directed him to Hebron (2 Samuel 2:1-4). When David went to Hebron the tribe of Judah (one out of twelve tribes) turned to him and submitted to him…

…If David had insisted on having all the tribes submit to him before assuming rulership, he would have failed woefully. Rather he enquired of the Lord an access to the vision which God showed him to be Hebron. He embraced it…

When David committed himself to Judah, things began to happen. Abner, captain of the host of the house of Saul, fell out with Ishboshet, Saul’s successor; Abner pledged loyalty to David and was murdered; Ishboshet was assassinated; Ishboshet’s two captains who assassinated him were killed…

When David gained control of the whole kingdom God gave him, he shifted his capital to Jerusalem, but he accessed the vision through Hebron from where he reigned over only one out of twelve tribes over which he was anointed king.

Great visions usually have a narrow access into them. Discover the access into the greatness earmarked for you by God.
Remember that the Gospel that would go round the world always has a Jerusalem to start at, then spreads around Judea, then extends to Samaria before getting to the uttermost parts of the earth.”

Prayer:
Lord, give me a place to stand on and show me the gateway into my greatness, that I may impact my generation for Your glory.

Our Vision

The vision of KCOM is that:
"the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the Glory of the Lord as the waters cover the seas" (Habakkuk 2:14).
"But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the Glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory even as by the Spirit of the Lord" (2 Corinthians 3:18).
