GOD WILL LIFT YOU ON HIGH

Then you shall delight yourself in the LORD; and I will cause you to RIDE on the HIGH HILLS of the earth, and feed you with the heritage of Jacob your father. The mouth of the LORD has spoken – Isaiah 58:14

It doesn’t matter how long you have been crawling and dragging through life like a worm, God’s promise for those who delight in Him and believe His Word is that we will be empowered to RIDE on HIGH; we’ll be lifted to ride on the heights of the earth! This is a recurring promise in the scriptures. Here are two additional witnesses:

• “He made him RIDE in the heights of the earth, that he might eat the produce of the fields; He made him to draw honey from the rock, and oil from the flinty rock” (Deut.32:13). This referred to Jehovah’s Lifting of Jacob.

• “But those who wait on the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run, and not be weary, they shall walk, and not faint” (Isa.40:31). Waiting on the LORD is key to our Lifting.

In science, the concept of “LIFT” is a key principle of aerodynamics. Flying into the wind enhances altitude. The wings of the airplane create more lift by flying against the wind. It is the same with the flight of birds: If a bird is simply hovering for pleasure, it may coast with the wind. But if it perceives danger, it turns into the wind to gain altitude, and soars up toward the sun. Many of life’s battles and challenges are divinely-ordained winds. God’s ‘holy hurricanes’ are not permitted to annihilate us, but to help lift us to higher grounds. The stronger they blow against us, the higher we’ll soar; the mightier we’ll mount.

Even in nature, dark clouds, flashing lighting, rumbling thunder, and raging storms precede torrents of rain. Thereafter, the rain removes oppressive heat and humidity, and brings cleansing, refreshing, newness of life, and rich blessing to the earth. Threatening tempests may actually be pointers to your Lifting! You can face life’s storms singing songs of Victory. As you soar against the winds, they’ll soon join the divine symphony. Winds find their voice not when hastening across a clear sea but when hindered by the outstretched limbs of trees.

Your soul will find its truest voice and sing its boldest, best, and most powerful melodies when it is compelled to sweep across the obstacles of life. Irrespective of the storms on life’s horizon, God will make you to ride on the realms of royalty, and to enjoy the increase of the fields, not crumbs under the table. As you wait on Him, He will renew your strength and empower you to soar with wings like eagles, far above mundanity and mediocrity, to the heights of distinction in destiny.
