Bible Meditation:
Joshua 4:1-24

And the LORD said to Joshua, “This day I will begin to MAGNIFY you in the sight of all Israel, that they may know that, as I was with Moses, so I will be with you” – Joshua 3:7

Dignity is a quality of honour. To dignify is to distinguish, add distinction to, or bestow honour on. It means to grant nobility to something or someone; to cause such to be respected and counted important. Is it presumptuous to suggest that God would dignify a human being – a creature of His? Ordinarily this may seem so, but the scriptures provide clear examples of God dignifying those He chose to. He who does it for one can do it for another! Indeed, the very creation of Man in God’s image and likeness was an impartation of dignity (Gen.1:26-27). By creation, every human person possesses a God-given dignity.

Everything God does is for a purpose. For example, He decided to dignify, elevate, exalt and magnify Joshua in the sight of all Israel for a purpose: to authenticate and confirm His Presence with him. Joshua 4: 14 attests: “On that day the LORD magnified Joshua in the sight of all Israel; and they feared him, as they had feared Moses, all the days of his life.” In other words, through extraordinary miraculous manifestations, God honoured Joshua in a unique manner, and gained him authority before the people. God publicly bestowed a higher token of divine favour on Joshua. God dignified him!

Mary was also divinely dignified! The moment she made herself available as a willing Vessel in God’s hands, His seal of dignity rested upon her. The angel said to her, “Rejoice, HIGHLY FAVORED ONE, the Lord is with you; blessed are you among women!” (Lk.1:28). We see from the examples of Joshua and Mary, that God’s Presence and Purpose are keys to walking in Dignity. When you are prepared to fulfil divine purpose, you are ultimately set to be dignified. Let your response be like Mary’s: “Let it be to me according to Your Word…” (Lk.1:38).

Besides the cases where God dignifies specific individuals, redemption elevates every believer to the dimension of Dignity. Through our redemption in Christ, God has “raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus” (Eph.2:6). It is also written of us: But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that you should show forth the praises of Him who has called you out of darkness into His marvellous light” (1Pet.2:9). By the Grace of God, you will never operate in shame or ignominy. God will dignify you in your career, calling, and location in life. Get ready to walk in dignity for His Glory!

Our Vision

The vision of KCOM is that:
"the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the Glory of the Lord as the waters cover the seas" (Habakkuk 2:14).
"But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the Glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory even as by the Spirit of the Lord" (2 Corinthians 3:18).
