GOD WILL ANOINT YOU POWERFULLY

I have found David my servant; with my holy oil have I anointed him: – Psalm 89:20

God touches to cleanse, heal, deliver, and transform. He also touches to ANOINT us. The Anointing is God’s divine, spiritual energy; His POWER for PERFORMANCE. God will anoint you with His divine power for service, and to defeat any enemy that may come your way. You must be willing to step into that anointing and fearlessly face the enemy. You must rise up in the power of the Lord and become a true warrior in Him. Whether we want to face up to it or not, since the fall of Adam and Eve, the world has been a War Zone. It takes the anointing to win and be victorious in the battles of life.

David the Warrior-King understood the Anointing; it distinguished him for conquest in all his battles. Psalm 89:20-37 reveals the impact of the fresh oil of Anointing that came upon David’s head. The anointing established, defended, and distinguished him above his contemporaries. The anointing is the key to dominion and exaltation: “But my horn shall you exalt like the horn of an unicorn: I shall be anointed with fresh oil” (Psa.92:10). God declared through David: “Touch not My anointed, and do My prophets no harm” (Psa.105:15). Whatever the storm that may come, you can have God’s anointing operating in your life for complete victory and total triumph.

It was prophesied concerning the Son of God: “You love righteousness, and hate wickedness: therefore God, your God, has ANOINTED you with the oil of gladness ABOVE your fellows” (Psa.45:7). The anointing sets you “above your fellows.” Jesus declared: “The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because He has ANOINTED Me…” (Lk.4:18). That’s why He is ‘Christ’ – the Anointed One! Again, “He called His twelve disciples and gave them POWER and AUTHORITY over all demons, and to cure diseases” (Lk.9:1). The Anointed One tells us: "Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over ALL the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you" (Lk.10:19). 

In Acts 1:8, the Lord Jesus reaffirms the truth of the anointing: "But you shall receive POWER when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” There is the Anointing UPON and Anointing WITHIN. The Old Testament saints had God’s anointing upon them, but Christ by the New Covenant has given us the privilege of the Anointing Within: "But you have an anointing from the Holy One, and you know all things…But the anointing which you have received from Him abides IN you..." (1 John 2:20,27). Be bold, be courageous, and set to step by faith into the realm of the anointing, and to trample over all the power of the enemy!
