Bible Meditation:
Romans 15: 1-13

For whatever things were written before were written for our learning, that we through the patience and comfort of the Scriptures might have HOPE” Romans 15:4

With hearts of gratitude to God who has kept us going, we’ll meditate in this new month on GOD’S WORDS of HOPE: “For whatever things were written before were written for our learning, that we through the patience and comfort of the Scriptures might have HOPE” (Rom.15:4). Our Heavenly Father is the God of Hope: Now may the GOD of HOPE fill you with all JOY and PEACE in believing, that you may abound in HOPE by the power of the Holy Spirit” (v.15:13). His Word – the Scriptures – is full of Hope for all of life’s challenges, settings, and situations (v.4). In the midst of global, national, communal, and family upheavals, we do well to learn all that we can to HOPE IN GOD. By His Grace, in this Month of May and hopefully the next (June), we shall meditate daily on diverse dimensions of this Living Hope, and the accompanying Joy and Peace.

The following are few scriptural Gems on Hope – tokens and foretaste of our meditations in the next sixty-one days:

“Why are you cast down, O my soul? And why are you disquieted within me? HOPE IN GOD; for I shall yet praise Him for the help of His countenance” (Psa.42:5). We have no reason to be cast down, disquieted or depressed, because God is the Fountain of our Hope and Source of our Help; and He is worthy of our praises.

“My soul, wait silently for God alone, for my EXPECTATION is from Him” (Psa.62:5). Hope in confident expectation in God as our Sole Source, who never disappoints.

“The LORD takes pleasure in those who fear Him, in those who HOPE in His mercy” (Psa.147:11). God delights and takes pleasure in those who reverently place their Hope in His unfailing Love.

“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a FUTURE and a HOPE” (Jer. 29:11). Hope is the expectation of future good based on God’s thoughts, principles, promises, and past performances.

“For we were saved in this HOPE, but hope that is seen is not hope; for why does one still hope for what he sees? But if we hope for what we do not see, we eagerly wait for it with perseverance” (Rom. 8:24-25). Biblical Hope is an Unfailing Hope.

“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant mercy has begotten us again to a LIVING HOPE through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead” (1 Pet. 1:3). The Christian Hope is a Living Hope.

“THIS HOPE we have as an ANCHOR of the soul, both sure and steadfast, and which enters the Presence behind the veil” (Heb. 6:19). Hope in the Lord is the sure and steadfast Anchor of our soul. We have sound and eternal reasons to hold fast in hope.

“Let us hold fast the confession of our HOPE without wavering, for He who promised is faithful” (Heb.10:23). This Living Hope will get us through the hardest and toughest of times if we’ll hold on steadfast and true.

Hope is confident expectation in the Lord and the desire for something good in the future. We put our trust in God and not on our own understanding. We hang in there come what may. Hope defeats despair and stands in Victory through Jesus Christ.

Our Vision

The vision of KCOM is that:
"the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the Glory of the Lord as the waters cover the seas" (Habakkuk 2:14).
"But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the Glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory even as by the Spirit of the Lord" (2 Corinthians 3:18).
