Mark 7: 24-30

“...Let the children first be filled: for it is not meet to take the CHILDREN’S BREAD, and to cast it unto the dogs– Mark 7:27b

GOD’S WORDS of HEALING affirm that Healing is the Children’s Bread:But Jesus said unto her, Let the children first be filled: for it is not meet to take the children’s bread, and to cast it unto the dogs(Mk.7:27). This was Jesus’s response to a gentile woman who brought her daughter to Him to be healed. This response implied that since she wasn’t Jewish, she had no right to ask for healing. Jesus told her that the Bread of Healing was for the children (the Jews). The Gospel was still restricted to the Jews. Thank God, in Christ Jesus today, as many as believe – Jews and Gentiles – can access the promises and covenants of blessings.

Bread in a home is the father’s responsibility and the child’s privilege. A child should not beg for bread. It is the father’s delight to provide bread for the child. Our Lord Jesus said, “If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask him?” (Mt.7:11). The woman was wise and humble enough to plead for mercy instead of trying to claim what she had to right to. The Lord of Mercy responded to her positively, and she returned home to find her daughter healed. She partook of the Bread of Healing based on His mercy, not on what she deserved.

According to His Covenant Word, God wants His children to be well. However, we’ll appropriate our healing only if we’re convinced that healing is in Christ’s atonement: “by whose stripes you were healed” (1 Pet. 2:24b). Jesus took stripes for our healing! His sacrifice makes our healing an accomplished transaction – Done Deal: “You were healed” – past tense! This is beyond the confines of dry and empty theological debates. Unfortunately, some who believe God CAN heal don’t believe He WILL. Yet, it’s hard to argue with Peter’s past-tense declaration, which itself is a re-affirmation of Isaiah 53:5. By these witnesses the Word is settled!

In fulfilling prophecy, Jesus took stripes not only for our spiritual health but also our physical healing: “When evening had come, they brought to Him many who were demon-possessed. And He cast out the spirits with a word, and healed all who were sick, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Isaiah the prophet, saying: “He Himself took our infirmities and bore our sicknesses” (Mt.8:16-17). Our Saviour suffered for our healing! It’s our portion. Healing is the children’s bread. It’s fully paid for.

Beloved, we don’t have to be sick. Healing is our bread – it belongs to us as God’s children. God wants us to be sparkling in spirit, sound in mind and strong in body. As we meditate on His Covenant Words of Healing and Health, allowing them to take root in our hearts, He’ll awaken Hope and quicken childlike Faith in us to the effect that God has already done it. Then, we can take authority over the Devil and his foul spirits of infirmity, command them and their baggage of diseases to leave, and the organs and cells of our body to receive healing, and be restored! Healing is not conditional upon our self-effort; it comes by faith in Christ’s finished work! As we keep confessing Words of Healing and Health, we’ll see the Lord perfect His work in our spirit, soul, and body!

In the Family of God, Healing is the children’s bread. It’s our Father’s loving responsibility to provide the bread, and our privilege as His children to eat to satisfaction. All we need do is stretch our faith, believe, and receive. We can confidently declare: “Healing is my portion as a Child of God. By the stripes that Christ received, my body and mind are healed from all infirmities.”

Our Vision

The vision of KCOM is that:
"the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the Glory of the Lord as the waters cover the seas" (Habakkuk 2:14).
"But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the Glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory even as by the Spirit of the Lord" (2 Corinthians 3:18).
