Luke 18: 18-30

“But He said, “The things which are IMPOSSIBLE WITH MEN are POSSIBLE WITH GOD”Luke 18:27

The Believer’s Walk with God is maximised when we know that GOD’S WAYS TRANSCEND OURS: “The things which are IMPOSSIBLE WITH MEN are POSSIBLE WITH GOD” (Lk.18:27b). Humanity struggles with possibilities; God performs impossibilities. Human beings operate under limitations; God is not bound by any limits or subject to any restrictions. God’s Ways infinitely transcend our ways: “For My thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways My ways,” says the LORD. As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways and My thoughts than your thoughts” (Isa. 55:8-9). God’s thoughts are much grander, bigger and higher than our thoughts. His ways are much higher than our ways.

God sees from eternity past into eternity future, whereas we see only today. God is always working according to His divine Plan: “being predestined according to the PURPOSE of Him who works all things according to the counsel of HIS WILL” (Eph. 1:11b). He has a Purpose and Will for all of His creation. That is, what He desires; what pleases Him; or what He has determined to be done: “Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times things that are not yet done, saying, ‘My counsel shall stand, and I will do all My pleasure,’ calling a bird of prey from the east, the man who executes My counsel, from a far country. Indeed I have spoken it; I will also bring it to pass. I have purposed it; I will also do it (Isa.46: 10-11). Ephesians 3:11 says, “according to the eternal PURPOSE which He accomplished in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

Unlike our finite human plans, God’s Ways are always certain. He not only knows what is best, He is committed to seeing that it gets done. Unless we’re fully persuaded of this truth, we tend to be confused and troubled. When life becomes extremely perplexing, even believers can give in to despondency. If we’re not careful at such times, we can become guilty of accusing God of doing what is wrong. Job came very close to this during his time of tribulation. He said, “Therefore I will not restrain my mouth; I will speak in the anguish of my spirit; I will complain in the bitterness of my soul” (Job 7:11). Job could not understand why terrible events befell him. His friends told him that it was because of some sin in his life, yet Job knew of no such sin. Therefore, because of the “anguish” of his spirit he complained in bitterness.

God sometimes does things that we cannot understand. He may allow things to happen to us that do not make sense in the short run. Yet, this does not mean that He is wrong in what He does, only that we lack the ability to understand. Jeremiah state what is God’s will for our lives: “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future” (Jer. 29:11). Though events may not seem exhilarating at the moment, ultimately behind everything God does is His eternal goodness. Therefore, during times of uncertainty, we should turn our lives over to God and allow Him to do what is best. This will ensure that we experience God’s peace.

In the words of Paul, the apostle: “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus” (Phi. 4:6-7). The revelation of God’s surpassing Ways will guarantee His all-surpassing peace, break through our limitations, and turn our human impossibilities into divine possibilities!

Our Vision

The vision of KCOM is that:
"the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the Glory of the Lord as the waters cover the seas" (Habakkuk 2:14).
"But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the Glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory even as by the Spirit of the Lord" (2 Corinthians 3:18).
