GOD’S WAY IS BEST

"As for God, HIS WAY IS PERFECT; the word of the LORD is proven; He is a shield to all who trust in Him” – Psalm 18:30

However enticing or attractive other options might appear to be, we must stand on the truth that GOD’S WAY IS BEST: "As for God, HIS WAY IS PERFECT; the word of the LORD is proven; He is a shield to all who trust in Him”(Psa.18:30). God simply knows infinite times more than we do. Just because something seems to us like it would be good, does not guarantee we are right: “There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way of death” (Pro.14:12). No matter how old we are, God has eternal experience relative to our limited temporal experience. We need to trust in His love, heed His warnings, and follow His instruction given to us in the Bible – not just to please Him, but for our own fulfilment as well.

Of course, it is not strange when some people choose to live their lives their way, having all of their lives been exposed to hypocrisy, even in the church. They’ve been constantly surrounded by complaining, condemning, and criticizing people who portray a wrong picture of what life God’s Way is. This is however not good enough reason to live outside of God’s Way, because doing so will only bring frustration, misery, and in some cases, destruction: “There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way of death” (Pro.16:25). It’s not every appealing opportunity that presents itself that’s the right one. Some people have headed in the wrong direction while thinking they were right for following it, and ended up in trouble. Lot for example, jumped at a natural opportunity that presented itself, lost everything, and ended up in a cave (Gen. 19:30).

God has not called us to a life of “trial and error.” We need His guidance in life so that we’re not misled by our senses or satanic deception. The Holy Spirit can guide in all your choices and decisions if we consult with Him rather than run ahead of Him. God has revealed His Way in His proven Word, so we can know, understand, and walk in them. We only need some motivation as to why it’s worth it. Here are five reasons why God’s Way is considered to be best in every circumstance:

God’s Way is the most rewarding in Time and Eternity. When we do things our way we will be discontented; when we do things God’s way we will be blessed and contented. There are astounding rewards for those who live God’s way, and horrific consequences for those who do not (Dt.6: 1-3). The innumerable benefits of following God’s Ways include: Eternal life; abundant life (Jh.10:10); joy and peace (Isa.55:12); victory over adversaries (Ps 81:13-14); wisdom and direction (Pro. 3:6); deliverance and sustenance; satisfaction (Psa. 63:5; 81:16); prosperity and good success (Jos.1:8); and spiritual growth.

God’s Way is the wisest: The all-knowing and all-wise sees what’s ahead and knows all the ramifications of any path taken. Unlike us He cannot make a mistake. God will bring about the best possible results, by the best possible means, for the most possible people, for the longest possible time!

God’s Motive is pure, good, and loving. This truth is vital to grasp when it seems uncertain what God is, or isn’t, doing.

God’s Way is eternal in view. He always has eternity in view; hence, our lives will be the most productive eternally speaking. Yes, He cares about our present challenges, but will not spare present pain at the expense of future results. The eternal destiny of souls is more crucial than current comfort.

God’s Way is best because it will bring the Glory due His name. “You are worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honor and power; for You created all things, and by Your will they exist and were created” (Rev 4:11).

When we follow God’s Perfect Way, He defends us like a shield (v.30c); makes our ways perfect (v.32); and enlarges our path so that our feet will not slip (v.36).
