FRUITFULNESS: WORKING WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT

Date:
Sunday, March 12, 2017
Bible Meditation:
Colossians 3:1-17

If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God. Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth. – Colossians 3: 1-2

Divine Fruitfulness is spiritual; it can never be attained in the power of the flesh. That’s why it requires the revelation and impartation of Grace. It is by the power of the Holy Spirit that the process of Fruitfulness is accomplished in you. You will however not be a passive robot in all this. You must be willing to work in cooperation with the Holy Spirit who lives and works within you.

It is your responsibility to get into the Word to find out exactly what it is God wants to change in and about you. You will have to define exactly what godly qualities God will want you to “put on” into your personality, and what vices He will want you to “put off” or “put away.” The Lord unambiguously guides us in this wise, by purposely identifying and stating nine specific and absolutely significant qualities that come directly from His Holy Spirit. We must do the best we can to partner with the Holy Spirit in getting all of these virtues infused into our personality, until they begin to saturate our lives and manifest through us.

For the next few days, Capstone Capsule will provide appropriate scriptural guidance on specific attributes and qualities that God will want to get worked into the essence of your personality. We’ll be meditating on the manifestations of the nine-fold Fruit of the Spirit, considering each in more detail:  love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Part of the intention is to stir your affection for eternal virtues, your longing for fruitfulness, and sincere hunger and thirst for righteousness in your inner man, which God alone can satisfy: Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled” (Mt. 5:6).

Colossians 3: 10 reveals that God’s ultimate goal is for you to be renewed in knowledge, according to the Image of Christ. He wants you to begin to manifest these Christ-like qualities without inhibition, and become an effective representative of your heavenly Father and a true reflection of the Glory of His Son, Jesus Christ. May you attain these in Jesus name.

Prayer:
Lord, in partnership with the Holy Spirit, renew me in knowledge after the Image of Christ; and let my life become a true reflection of Your Glory, in Jesus Christ.

Our Vision

The vision of KCOM is that:
"the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the Glory of the Lord as the waters cover the seas" (Habakkuk 2:14).
"But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the Glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory even as by the Spirit of the Lord" (2 Corinthians 3:18).
