Bible Meditation:
2 Corinthians 4: 7-18

“While we look not at the things which are SEEN, but at the things which are NOT SEEN…”  – 2 Corinthians 4:18a

It takes understanding, possessing, and applying FAITH as the SIXTH SENSE, to engage with Realms of the Unseen: “While we look not at the things which are SEEN, but at the things which are NOT SEEN; for the things which are seen are temporal, but the things which are not seen are eternal” (2Cor.4:18). God endowed humanity with five natural senses: hearing, seeing, smelling, tasting, and touch. In the context of the Christian life, there a sixth sense, the God-given Sense of FAITH: “For we walk by Faith, not by sight” (2Cor.5:7). “Sight” stands for the natural senses. There are Seen Things or Visible Realities, and Unseen Things or Invisible Realities. There are realms of the Seen and realms of the Unseen. Faith as the Sixth Sense is our Eye into the Unseen!

Our natural man holds the five senses to be absolute in interpreting and giving credence to what we experience and how we feel. When circumstances seem to overshadow God’s promises in our lives and our senses reinforce same, we lose heart and become discouraged. The enemy sends distresses, reproaches and persecutions to weaken us, but God’s Grace is sufficient to strengthen us, as we see with the Eyes of Faith: “…My Grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness…” (2 Cor. 12:7-10). Paul was made weak by the attack, but made strong by Faith in the Grace of God and His Promises. As we abide in God and digest His Words through meditation, these become the nutrients for our spiritual man who lives in faith and by faith.

Faith is being sure, steadfast of what we do not see yet. The title deed of the promises of God written in His Word, inspired by the Holy Spirit, transfer to us through a Deed of Faith, when we believe Him for what He has said. When we act on what we have not yet seen, the invisible becomes visible in our natural world. All of these become reality through Faith, our God-given Sixth Sense! It is impossible to please God without Faith (Heb.11:6). Faith does not come through merely reading or studying God’s Word. Faith only comes into active existence when we believe and act as if the Word is true even when it’s not yet seen in the natural world. Faith is confidence in God’s Word. The Living God will always back His Word up because He is the inspiration behind His Word.

That anyone of the five senses fails does not cancel the reality they were meant to perceive. What would be required is a higher and superior sense. Faith as the Sixth Sense is possessed by those who have believed God in Christ; and it is our access into realms of Unseen Things. Similar to how the physical senses provide evidence of physical realities, Faith proves Spiritual Realities: “Now FAITH is the substance of THINGS HOPED FOR, the evidence of THINGS NOT SEEN. For by it the elders obtained a good testimony. By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the Word of God, so that the THINGS which are SEEN were not made of things which are VISIBLE” (Heb.11: 1-3). Faith is the substance of intangible desires; the evidence of unseen realities.

Faith knows that God created the entire Universe from “things which are invisible” (Heb.11:3). This Sixth Sense comes from one Source: “Looking unto Jesus, the Author and Finisher of our Faith” (Heb.12:2a). Faith is rooted in the Person Who the scriptures testify about, Jesus – the Living Word Who became flesh (Jh.1: 1-14). Faith looks at the Unseen Promises in His Word, rather than the Seen problems in the world. Faith sees the “treasure in earthen vessels” and “excellence of the Power,” rather than the pressures and persecutions (vv.7-9). Faith looks at the Unseen realities of Redemption – Forgiveness, Justification, Sanctification, Glorification – rather than the enemy’s temporal assaults! Faith sees “a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory” (v.17a).

Lord, help us to exercise FAITH as the SIXTH SENSE, to perceive and engage with spiritual realities in Unseen Realms, in Jesus’ name.

Our Vision

The vision of KCOM is that:
"the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the Glory of the Lord as the waters cover the seas" (Habakkuk 2:14).
"But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the Glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory even as by the Spirit of the Lord" (2 Corinthians 3:18).
